FROM THE DESK OF THE ARCHBISHOP AND APOSTOLIC HEAD
Sir Godfrey Gregg
(A reprint of an email sent out last year)
This is the day that the Lord has made and we are going to rejoice and be glad in it. We praise the Lord for bringing us thus far to see the dawning of another day. What a glorious day it is for us as believers regardless of the church or affiliation. Our God deserves all the honour and the praise with every form of instrument.
It is always a pleasure to write to you my brothers and sisters to tell you that Jesus is still the same yesterday, today and forever. He never changes, even though we change from time to time. So today we are going to raise the bar to a higher standard of living and behaviour pattern in humility and integrity, in this Gospel pathway, serving the Lord in the beauty of holiness; for which no man shall see the Lord.
Today I greet His All holiness the Patriarch and Bishop of Starlight of Israel Sir Darrindel Hoyte-Johnson, Matriarch-Elect Hon. Janet McClean, Crowned Queen Abbess Dr. Jacinta Albert-Patrick, His Eminence Sir Eric Alleyne, Patriarch McGillvary and the Queen Abbess of London, England, Clergy, brothers, sisters, friends and well-wishers greetings.. It is comforting to speak again directly to you. God in His infinite mercy has reached to us when justice was handed to us. His mercy intervened on our behalf and so we were spared another day, another month or even another year.
Since I took the solemn oath as a Minister and in the Office I currently hold, I am reminded by the words on my certificate “I charged you”. Powerful words, spoken by the Apostle Paul. John Wesley penned the words “A charge to keep I have.” What does this tell us as Ministers living with a responsibility daily before the Lord. In all our ways we are to acknowledge that He is Lord of all. Praise the Name of the Lord.
What I have discovered recently that the church has become so selfish that the basic things that God requires of us are side lined. It is all about us and the role of us Ministers are on the front burners. The unbelievers we are to minister to are on the back burner. We have to come to the place and Deny ourselves and take up the cross and follow Him. We lost the battle many years ago in the Garden of Eden when Adam sinned. We learnt from that, where and how to pass blame. It is always your fault and you caused it to happen. We have a responsibility as Ministers to take charge of our lives.
Let me warn you that on that great and dreadful day when we are called to answer before the Lord, we will stand as individuals before the Lord. There will be no one to lay blame on, because our records will be admissible before the Judge of all judges. What a day that will be to hear depart from me. All because you never took charge of your life and constantly blame others. We are only faultless in Christ Jesus and thank God for the blood of His Son. You see, He paid the price once and we are today drafted into the family as true sons and daughters.
As I continue to reach out to you I trust that you make the turn around and see where the Lord wants you to go or to lead. It is not my will but His will be done in my life and you should believe the same. May you find comfort in these words and find grace and favour today. I love you and may Almighty God bless and keep you.
