I. ORIGINS AND EARLY LIFE
His All Holiness, Sir Darrindel Hoyte-Johnson was born in the twin islands of Trinidad and Tobago to his parents, Leila Johnson and Joseph Worrell-Hoyte. From the earliest season of his life, the hand of the Almighty rested upon him in a manner that would chart a course of consecrated and sacrificial service to the Kingdom of Heaven and to the people of the Spiritual Baptist Faith.
He grew up in the Anglican Church, and at a tender age, he heeded the divine call to become a member of the Spiritual Baptist Faith. He was baptized by immersion under the watchful eyes of Spiritual Mother Abbess Ivy Hunte of St. George’s Chapel, together with Bishop Sandy. He thereafter took several “thrones of grace” with the Lord of lords Bishop of Trinidad and Tobago, Francis Moses of Saint Michael Spiritual Baptist Church, and at Saint Philemon Court under the watchful guidance of The Grand Mistress Pearl Roach and Leader Jonas Celestine.
These early years of spiritual formation forged within him a deep reverence for the traditions and disciplines of the Faith, and a commitment to the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit that has never wavered. The Lord was preparing him, even then, for the high calling that awaited.
II. ORDINATION, CONSECRATION, AND RISING MINISTRY
In 1997, Sir Darrindel was ordained as a Reverend Minister by the Archbishop of Trinidad and Tobago, His Grace Raymond Douglas. In 2006, he was consecrated as a Bishop by John Terry of the Pentecostal Movement, and in 2007, at Staten Island, he received a further consecration to the office of Bishop among twenty-five others by Bishop Serrano. These successive acts of ordination and consecration marked a man whose calling was not self-appointed but confirmed repeatedly by the Body of Christ across traditions and borders.
Between 1995 and 2011, Sir Darrindel served faithfully as the Founder and Leader of the church Starlight of Israel in Rochester, New York. During those years, he baptized many souls and received even more into the fellowship of the Faith. His most celebrated baptismal service was conducted in 1995 at Coney Island Beach — a historic and publicly visible declaration of the work of the Spirit in that season.
In 2011, Starlight of Israel was formally merged with The Mystical Order of Spiritual Baptist Inc., joining the two branches of his ministry into one covenanted body, strengthened in purpose and unified in mission.
III. CO-FOUNDER OF THE MYSTICAL ORDER MINISTRIES INTERNATIONAL
The Mystical Order of Spiritual Baptist Inc. was founded through prayer and fasting by Sir Godfrey Gregg of St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Sir Darrindel Hoyte-Johnson of Trinidad and Tobago. Together, these two pillars of the Spiritual Baptist Faith established an institution that would grow in grace, influence, and international reach. The Church expanded with the registration of The Mystical Order No. 2 in Trinidad and Tobago, and the institution has borne witness to God’s faithfulness through the elevation and consecration of a Matriarch within its ranks, with the prospect of a Grand Queen Superior yet to come.
In 2011, Sir Darrindel was appointed Archbishop of The Mystical Order of Spiritual Baptist Inc., a position he held with distinction until October 2012, when he was elevated to the high and sacred office of Patriarch. In 2014, by appointment of the Executive Council, he relinquished the portfolio of Presiding Prelate to assume the office of Patriarch and Chief Apostle — the supreme spiritual authority of The Mystical Order Ministries International, which he holds to this day.
IV. SACRED OFFICES, HONOURS, AND DISTINCTIONS
In the exercise of the Supreme Office of Patriarch and Chief Apostle, Sir Darrindel Hoyte-Johnson serves as the Supreme Grand Commanding Officer of the Mystical Court, the principal governing and decision-making body of the Order. The following orders, degrees, and distinctions have been conferred upon him in recognition of his sacred calling and his distinguished service to the Church and to the Faith:
Ordained High Priest of the Order of Melchizedek (OHPM)
Licensed Marriage Officiant, Great State of New York (LOM)
Grand Commander of Saint Michael and Saint George (GCMG) — conferred by the Mystical Court, reserved for members thereof
Order of Saint John (OSJ)
Award of Honour for Outstanding Work and Leadership in the Spiritual Baptist Faith, The Mystical Order, and Starlight of Israel Healing School (2026)
V. PASTORAL VISION AND ECUMENICAL LEADERSHIP
The pastoral heart of Sir Darrindel Hoyte-Johnson has always been one of reconciliation, unification, and intercessory love for the whole Body of Christ. He has fellowshipped and held communion with former Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago, Dr. Eric Williams, and continues his affiliation with Archbishop Senator Barbara Burke, Archbishop Monica Rondo, and Archbishop Dorothy Hercules. His ecumenical outreach has borne fruit in members and ministers from England, Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados, and St. Vincent and the Grenadines coming into fellowship with The Mystical Order under his pastoral oversight.
Consistent with his prophetic vision for the Spiritual Baptist Faith, Sir Darrindel Hoyte-Johnson has declared the Year 2026 the Year of Unity for the Spiritual Baptist Faith — a proclamation rooted in sacred Scripture and arising from years of tireless effort to forge deeper fellowship among the diverse expressions of the Baptist tradition. His desire is that the churches be unified under one spiritual umbrella, with Jesus Christ as the Chief Cornerstone.

VI. PERSONAL LIFE AND PRESENT RESIDENCE
Sir Darrindel Hoyte-Johnson is a devoted husband and father. He is blessed with two sons and a daughter. He currently resides in Rochester, New York, from which he continues to lead The Mystical Order Ministries International with apostolic authority, paternal love, and prophetic vision.
He remains a consecrated apostle, a shepherd after the order of the Ancient Faith, and a man whose life and ministry bear enduring testimony to the power of God working through a yielded and obedient vessel. The Mystical Order Ministries International, under his supreme leadership, continues to stand tall and press forward in the confidence of this divine promise: that the King is indeed coming, and that His people must go out to meet Him.
