I. ORIGINS AND EARLY LIFE
Her Eminence Dr. Patricia Hackshaw was born in the Twin Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, the daughter of Alberta Hackshaw and the late Reverend Lloyd Samson. From her earliest years, she was nurtured in the rich spiritual heritage of the Spiritual Baptist Faith — a tradition deeply rooted in Caribbean history, African spiritual inheritance, and the liberating power of the Holy Spirit.
At a young age, Patricia was baptized by Bishop Vaughnes at Mt. Olive Spiritual Baptist Church, marking the sacred beginning of her walk in faith. Following her baptism, she was privileged to sit at the feet of distinguished spiritual fathers, including Bishop Leslie Vaughnes, Reverend Lloyd Sampson, and the late Lindsay Isaac, each of whom shaped and refined the spiritual character that would define her ministerial journey.
II. MIGRATION AND CONTINUED CONSECRATION
In pursuit of God’s calling upon her life, Her Eminence subsequently migrated to the United States of America, where she continued to faithfully practise and uphold the doctrines and traditions of the Spiritual Baptist Faith. Her commitment to the faith did not wane with relocation; rather, it deepened and expanded as she carried the torch of the Spiritual Baptist witness into new territory.
It was during this season that Dr. Hackshaw was invited into a pivotal series of consultations with Patriarch Dr. Darrindel Hoyte-Johnson and Archbishop Dr. Godfrey Gregg to discuss the formation and formal registration of a prayer group into an organised and legally recognised church within the great State of New York. Her wisdom, devotion, and administrative acumen proved invaluable to these foundational proceedings.
In 2012, Patricia Hackshaw was consecrated as an Abbess on the island of Barbados, thus fulfilling the canonical requirements for her appointment within the ranks of The Mystical Order. Subsequent meetings between all relevant parties culminated in her formal appointment as Abbess — the ecclesiastical equivalent of Bishop — within the ministry, and the official process of church registration was launched under her watchful participation.
III. HISTORIC FIRSTS AND PIONEERING ACHIEVEMENTS
Her Eminence Dr. Patricia Hackshaw has distinguished herself as a pioneer of historic proportions within The Mystical Order Ministries International, achieving a series of landmark firsts that have expanded the boundaries of the Order’s ministry and witness.
She holds the distinction of being the first Abbess and Licensed Marriage Officiant (LOM) within the great State of New York — a groundbreaking achievement that opened new avenues for ministerial service to the community. In late 2012, by appointment of the Mystical Court, she was elevated to the exalted position of Queen Abbess, becoming the first to hold this sacred office within the Order — yet another milestone in a ministry defined by excellence and divine favour.
In 2013, Her Eminence continued to make history when she represented The Mystical Order in St. Croix at an affiliate church, where she presided over a Crowning service. Acting under the authority of a formal letter from the Archbishop and with the approval of the Patriarch, and in fellowship with other ministers and Bishop Andres, Queen Abbess Patricia Hackshaw consecrated Ursula Lawrence to the position of Abbess — the first such consecration conducted under her pen and hand on foreign soil. This act of ecclesiastical extension testified to the growing reach and influence of The Mystical Order under her leadership.
IV. ACADEMIC AND SPIRITUAL DISTINCTIONS
Her Eminence Dr. Patricia Hackshaw is a woman of formidable theological scholarship as well as profound spiritual attainment. She holds the degree of Doctor of Ministry, reflecting her commitment to rigorous academic and pastoral formation in service of the Body of Christ.
Within The Mystical Order, she has been conferred the distinguished Mystical Degree of Ordained High Priestess of the Order of Melchizedek (OHPM) — one of the highest spiritual accolades within the Order, recognising her depth of consecration and spiritual authority. Upon recommendation to the Patriarch, she was further honoured with the title of the Order of Saint Michael (OSM), a recognition of her exemplary service, courage, and dedication to the mission of the church.
Together, her credentials — LOM, OHPM, OSM — represent the full tapestry of her ministerial service: pastoral, priestly, and apostolic. They are a fitting testimony to a servant of God who has given her life unreservedly to the advancement of the Spiritual Baptist Faith and the building up of the Kingdom of God.
V. PRESENT OFFICE AND CONTINUING LEGACY
Her Eminence Dr. Patricia Hackshaw presently serves as Queen Abbess of The Mystical Order Ministries International and as Assistant Grand Commanding Mother of the Mystical Court. In these capacities, she holds supreme pastoral and administrative authority over the women of the Order, serving as shepherd, teacher, counsellor, and intercessor to the flock entrusted to her care.
Her written devotional ministry — reflected in her teaching series “Devotions with Queen Abbess Patricia” — continues to edify the saints across the global reach of the ministry. With the grace and anointing of the Almighty God, she ministers the Word with clarity, compassion, and unwavering conviction, inspiring all who sit under her ministry to walk in deeper consecration and divine purpose.
The mother of one daughter and several spiritual children, Her Eminence embodies the spirit of spiritual motherhood in its truest sense — nurturing, interceding, teaching, and covering those who have been placed in her charge by the Most High God. Her life and ministry stand as a living testament to the words of Proverbs 31:29: “Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.”
