Archbishop Andres B. Quow
The titles bestowed upon a leader in the Church—Archbishop, Presiding Prelate—carry with them a weight of expectation and authority. Yet, from my soul, I, Sir Andres B. Quow, confess that their true gravity lies not in elevation, but in descent. They are a summons to profound humility and sacrificial service. The miter is not a crown, but a reminder of the tongues of fire at Pentecost, urging one to speak God’s truth with clarity and compassion. The crosier is not a scepter of rule, but a shepherd’s staff, used to guide, to rescue, and to steady the faltering. The honorific ‘Sir’ intertwined with my name is not a secular distinction but a sacred charge to embody the chivalry of Christ: to defend the weak, to champion righteousness, and to serve with the dignity of a knight in the Kingdom of God.

This sacred trust finds its purpose in you, the people of God. To preside is not to dominate a gathering, but to hold a sacred space for the Spirit to move, to ensure that the worship offered is pure and the word proclaimed is true. It is a vigilant guardianship of the faith once delivered. The devotion required of me is twofold: a vertical, all-consuming love for God that fuels a horizontal, outpouring love for His children. My study, my prayers, my administrative duties are hollow if they do not ultimately translate into a hand extended to lift the fallen, a word spoken to kindle hope in the despairing, and a life lived transparently as a pointer to Christ. I am not called to be a monument, but a conduit, not a destination, but a guidepost. Therefore, let every soul under my care know this: my ultimate devotion is to Christ the Chief Shepherd. But in His name, my life, my energy, and my office are devoted to your spiritual flourishing, your protection, and your journey toward the eternal fold. This is the solemn and joyous vow of your servant-shepherd.
