“In Unity There Is Strength”

Day 20 – April 4: Unity as Spiritual Warfare
“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” – Ephesians 6:10-11
Make no mistake—the enemy of our souls is terrified of a unified church. He knows that agreement in prayer brings breakthrough, that a church standing together is unshakeable, and that unity releases the power and presence of God in extraordinary ways. Therefore, one of his primary strategies is to divide and conquer.
Satan doesn’t usually attack unity directly. He’s more subtle than that. He plants seeds of suspicion, whispers accusations, exploits weaknesses, and magnifies offences. He’ll use a small misunderstanding to create a major division. He’ll take a legitimate concern and twist it into an accusation. He’ll find the cracks in relationships and wedge them wider.

This is why Paul, after extensive teaching on unity and relationships in Ephesians, immediately addresses spiritual warfare. The battle for unity is ultimately a spiritual battle. We don’t wrestle against flesh and blood—we wrestle against spiritual forces that want to fragment the body of Christ.
Our defence is both spiritual and practical. Spiritually, we put on the armour of God, particularly the belt of truth and the breastplate of righteousness. We recognize the enemy’s tactics and refuse to cooperate with his divisive agenda. We pray for one another and cover our ministry in intercession.
Practically, we guard our hearts against offence, refuse to participate in gossip, address conflicts quickly and biblically, and give each other the benefit of the doubt. We recognize that the person we’re in conflict with is not our enemy—they’re our brother or sister. The real enemy is the one trying to divide us.
As we conclude this fast, let’s commit to standing united against the enemy’s schemes, presenting him with an impenetrable wall of unity.
Prayer Focus: Pray for spiritual discernment and strength to recognize and resist the enemy’s attempts to divide The Mystical Order Ministries.
