1.) Why was Thomas thinking that Jesus and the disciples would all die if they went to Bethany again?

Because the Jews there had tried to kill them previously.

He was a friend of Judas Iscariot and they believed that Jesus would not rise from the dead.      

He was not present when Jesus appeared.

He wanted to go back fishing and did not care to know.

He still was not convinced that Jesus was the Son of God.

Four of the disciples lifted some tiles off the roof and lowered Him down through the gap.
