Faithful Intercessors,
There is a hidden ministry in our Order that receives little recognition but carries tremendous power: the ministry of intercession. While some are called to visible platforms and public influence, others are called to the hidden place of prayer, standing in the gap between heaven and earth, between crisis and breakthrough, between destruction and deliverance.
If you are called to intercession, you already know it. You feel compelled to pray, often awakened in the night with specific people or situations pressing on your heart. You carry burdens for others that you cannot explain or shake off. You see needs and immediately feel the response rise within you: “I must pray.” This is not random—it is your assignment.
Intercessory prayer is spiritual warfare of the highest order. When you pray, you are not merely reciting words into space. You are speaking into the spiritual realm, shifting atmospheres, breaking bondages, releasing divine intervention, and holding back forces of darkness. Your prayers matter more than you can comprehend. Situations that appear hopeless in the natural realm can turn on the axis of sustained intercession.
The challenge of this calling is that you rarely see immediate results. You pray faithfully for months or years, and nothing seems to change. Then suddenly, a breakthrough comes, and you may never know that your prayers were the tipping point. This requires tremendous faith and perseverance. You must trust that your prayers are not falling on deaf ears, even when circumstances suggest otherwise.
I want to honour you today, faithful intercessors. I see you. The Divine sees you. Though your ministry happens in hiddenness, it is recorded in heaven. Every tear you shed in prayer, every hour you spent on your knees when you could have been sleeping, every time you chose prayer over comfort—all of it matters. You are literally changing the course of human events through your intercession.
Do not grow weary. Do not despise the hiddenness of your calling. Some ministries are designed for visibility; others for invisibility. Neither is more important than the other. The kingdom operates through both. Your faithful prayers are holding things together that would otherwise fall apart. Communities are being protected because you stand watch. Individuals are experiencing breakthroughs because you wouldn’t give up.
Keep praying. Keep standing. Keep believing. Your labour is not in vain.
