The Call to Holiness
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Holiness is not an option for the believer; it is a command. In 1 Peter 1:15-16, we are instructed, “But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: ‘Be holy, because I am holy.’” Holiness is not about perfection but about separation—separating ourselves from the patterns of this world and consecrating ourselves to God.
Holiness begins in the heart. It is a daily choice to align our thoughts, words, and actions with the will of God. It requires us to turn away from sin and to pursue righteousness, knowing that God’s grace empowers us to live differently. The Apostle Paul urges us in Romans 12:1-2 to offer our bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God, and to be transformed by the renewing of our minds.
Living a holy life does not mean we isolate ourselves from the world. Instead, it means we engage with the world as ambassadors of Christ, reflecting His love, purity, and truth. Holiness is not a burden; it is a privilege. It is the opportunity to live in a way that honors God and draws others to Him.
Let us pursue holiness with diligence. Let us examine our lives regularly, asking the Holy Spirit to reveal areas where we need to grow. And let us encourage one another in this journey, knowing that we are called to a higher standard—not out of legalism, but out of love for our Savior.
May your life be a reflection of God’s holiness, and may you experience the joy and freedom that comes from walking in obedience to Him.
