As we enter the blessed month of May, a season set aside to honour the sacred calling of motherhood, we pause to give heartfelt praise and gratitude to all mothers—the vessels through whom life, love, and legacy flow. As it is written, “Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her” (Proverbs 31:28).
We celebrate the ancestral stream that began long before us, carried faithfully through generations by women of strength, grace, and unwavering devotion. We honour the mothers who laboured, nurtured, prayed, and tarried with us through seasons of joy and trial—those whose hands shaped our lives and whose faith anchored our souls. The Word reminds us, “She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness” (Proverbs 31:26).
With deep reverence, we also remember the mothers who have been called from labour to eternal reward. Though they have transitioned from our sight, their love remains an everlasting imprint upon our hearts, and their spiritual footprints continue to guide our path. “Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord… that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them” (Revelation 14:13).
In this sacred time of reflection and celebration, we lift our voices in gratitude for every mother—past and present—whose life has been a testament of sacrifice, resilience, and divine purpose. “Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come” (Proverbs 31:25).
Heavenly Father,
We come before You with grateful hearts, thanking You for the gift and blessing of motherhood. We honour You as the giver of life and the source of all love, and we praise You for every mother—past and present—who has walked in Your strength and purpose.
Lord, we ask that You continue to bless the mothers among us. Strengthen them in their daily walk, renew their spirits, and fill their hearts with peace and joy. Let Your wisdom guide them, Your grace sustain them, and Your love overflow through them in all they do.
We also lift before You the cherished memory of those mothers who have been called from labour to eternal rest. We thank You for their legacy, their prayers, and their unwavering faith. May the seeds they planted continue to bear fruit in generations to come.
Comfort every heart that feels their absence, and remind us that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Let Your divine presence surround us, assuring us that love never fades and that every good work done in You is eternal.
Father, we dedicate this time of honour and remembrance to You. May all glory be given unto Your holy name, now and forevermore.
