The Heart’s Response to God’s Goodness
“Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:18
My Beloved Children,
Gratitude is the heart’s response to God’s goodness. It is not dependent on our circumstances but is a choice to recognize and celebrate God’s faithfulness in every season of life. I have walked through valleys and mountaintops, and I have learned that gratitude is not a feeling—it is a discipline. It is the practice of acknowledging God’s presence, His provision, and His promises, even when life is difficult.
In The Mystical Order, we do not wait for perfect conditions to give thanks. We cultivate gratitude in all things, for we know that God is at work, even in the trials. Gratitude is the antidote to bitterness, the remedy for anxiety, and the gateway to joy. It shifts our focus from what we lack to what we have been given, and it opens our hearts to experience God’s peace.

But let me share a truth I have learned: Gratitude is transformative. It changes our perspective, renews our minds, and draws us closer to God. When we give thanks, we invite His presence into our circumstances, and we position ourselves to receive His blessings.
Ask yourself: What am I thankful for today? True gratitude is not about ignoring pain but about recognizing God’s goodness in the midst of it.
With a Heart of Gratitude,
Queen Abbess Patricia
