THE WILDERNESS EXPERIENCE

HH, Patriarch Sir Godfrey

Beloved Travellers,

Many of you are currently in what I call a wilderness experience—a season of isolation, testing, stripping away, and preparation that feels barren and purposeless. You wonder why the Divine has led you into this lonely place when you were promised blessings and abundance. You question whether you have somehow fallen out of favour or missed a turn in the path.

Let me bring clarity to your confusion. The wilderness is not punishment—it is preparation. It is not abandonment—it is intimate training. Every significant figure in spiritual history has passed through the wilderness before stepping into their destiny. Moses spent forty years in the desert before liberating a nation. Jesus spent forty days in the wilderness before beginning His ministry. The wilderness is where superficial faith becomes tested faith, where declared beliefs become proven convictions.

In the wilderness, everything you thought you could depend on is removed. The comforts that distracted you from divine dependence are stripped away. The voices of human opinion that influenced you more than they should grow silent. The external validations that propped up your identity disappear. What remains is you and the Divine, alone together, and in that stark reality, you discover what you truly believe rather than what you claim to believe.

The wilderness reveals what the crowd concealed. It exposes weaknesses that prosperity masked. It surfaces doubts that busyness has buried. This can be painful, even terrifying, but it is absolutely necessary. Better to discover your weak foundations in the wilderness where the Divine can rebuild them than to have them collapse later under the weight of your calling.

During this season, you will be tempted to escape, to return to the familiar, to abort the process before it is complete. Resist this temptation with everything in you. The wilderness has a beginning and an end, but you must complete the curriculum before you can graduate. Those who leave prematurely will find themselves circling back to the same lessons until they learn them.

Know this: every day in the wilderness is progress, even when it feels like wandering. Every test passed strengthens you for the next level. Every moment of choosing faith over fear builds the character you will need for your destiny. The wilderness is not forever, but its lessons are. Embrace the season. Trust the process. Your promised land awaits on the other side.

Wilderness blessings,

The Patriarch
