Day 12 – Obey Your Parents
Scripture: “Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.” (Ephesians 6:1)
Obedience may sound simple, but it is one of the most important life lessons you will ever learn. God
gave you parents not just to provide food, clothing, and a home, but to guide and protect your soul. When you choose to listen to them—even when you think you know better—you are actually positioning yourself for blessings.
Obedience is more than just hearing; it is doing. If your parents advise you to study, respect your teachers, or avoid certain bad friendships, listen carefully. They have walked paths you have not yet traveled, and their wisdom comes from experience. Scripture promises long life to children who honor and obey their parents (Ephesians 6:2–3). That is God’s reward!
Remember that rebellion closes doors, but obedience unlocks favor. Begin today by checking your heart. Have you ignored something your parents or guardians have told you? Ask forgiveness, then make the choice to obey with a willing spirit. Pray: “Lord, help me to obey my parents and honor them. May obedience to them teach me how to obey You.” This simple choice secures your future.
