“In Unity There Is Strength”

Day 9 – March 24: The Strength of Submission
“Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.” – Ephesians 5:21
In our modern culture, submission is often viewed as a sign of weakness, a posture of the powerless. But biblical submission is actually a demonstration of profound strength. It takes strength to yield, to defer, to honour another’s perspective above your own. It takes spiritual maturity to submit to authority you could challenge and to honour leadership even when you disagree with their methods.
Mutual submission is the glue that holds unity together. Notice Paul says we submit “to one another”—this is not just about hierarchical authority but about a culture of mutual honour and deference. The elder submits to the younger by listening to fresh perspectives. The younger submits to the elder by honouring wisdom and experience. The strong submit to the weak by tempering their liberty for the sake of conscience. The weak submit to the strong by trusting their maturity.

In The Mystical Order Ministries, strength is not found in asserting our individual rights but in mutually submitting to one another for the sake of the greater good. This doesn’t mean surrendering convictions or compromising truth, but it does mean choosing relationship over being right, choosing unity over individual expression.
When everyone insists on their own way, chaos results. But when each member says, “Not my will, but what’s best for the body,” extraordinary things happen. Decisions are made with wisdom, conflicts are resolved peacefully, and the church’s testimony shines brightly in a world that understands only power struggles and self-assertion.
Prayer Focus: Ask God to cultivate a spirit of mutual submission in our ministry, where honour and deference flow freely among members.
