To the Fathers of Mt. Tabor Mystical Spiritual Baptist Church
On this Father’s Day, Mt. Tabor Mystical Spiritual Baptist Church in Troumaca lifts every father in thanksgiving and celebration. To the fathers who lead with quiet strength, who labour that their households may lack nothing, and who stand as priest and protector within their own homes, we honour you today.
Scripture reminds us that fatherhood itself mirrors something divine, a love that disciplines with tenderness, that provides without complaint, and that remains steady even when the way is hard.
“Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him.” Psalm 103:13
We are likewise charged to train our children in the way they should go, trusting that what is sown in love and discipline will not depart from them in their later years.
“Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6
Every father who has knelt in prayer over a sleeping child, who has spoken correction in love, who has modelled faith before he ever preached a word, has already begun building a legacy that will outlast him.
We remember, too, the fathers of our Spiritual Baptist tradition, the patriarchs and elders who carried the faith through trial and triumph, who taught us that to father well is to serve, to sacrifice, and to point always toward God. Their example calls every man among us upward.
To the fathers within this congregation and beyond, in whatever season you find yourselves, raising young children, mentoring grown ones, grieving the children you have lost, or fathering in spirit those who call you “Daddy” though no blood binds you, Mt. Tabor honours you. May the Lord strengthen your hands, soften your hearts, and crown your labour with peace.
