HH, Sir Godfrey Gregg D.Div
Dear Jesus,
Thank You for providing security in an insecure world. You warned that “nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in various places, and famines. These are the beginning of birth pains” (Mark 13:8). All of this and more will signal Your coming. But You also said, “Do not be alarmed” (Mark 13:7).
Jesus, when things seem to be spiralling out of control, I trust that You are in control. In this ever-changing world, You never change. Every promise You have made, I know You will keep. Whatever happens, no matter how disturbing, Your love will see me through. And because You are always with me, I will not be afraid. Jesus, when the world seems dark as it is now with the Coronavirus pandemic,
- You give me light.
- You give me hope.
- You give me the courage to move on.
- You are strength in weakness and hope in despair.
Your precepts never change, nor does Your purpose. You are always holy, just, and right. Most of all, You are there— shielding, protecting, comforting, and reassuring me. I am safe in Your presence. Thank You, Jesus, for being my refuge.
“Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine.” — Isaiah 43:1
Today’s world can be a frightening place. Everywhere you look, there seems to be a disaster, tragedy, and bad news. But as a Christian, you have the gift of knowing that God is your refuge. In fact, God is referred to as your refuge more than forty times in the book of Psalms. Look up the word refuge, and write its definition here. How has God been your refuge?
Now, God, I am asking You in this New Year that You will keep Your children in St. Vincent and the Grenadines safe in this time of adversity. A sleeping giant has awakened and we do not know what can happen. This morning I ask that You will cover us under the protection and shadow of your wings. I know God that under Your wings the enemy will not be able to get under nor around. You are our shield and defender. I ask in faith on this very first day of the New Year to cover us, the government, the Parliament, the Judiciary, Your sons and daughters and prepare the hearts of your children as we wait anxiously for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit in this Year.
Oh, let the anointing falls on us like on the day of Pentecost. Let the fire of the Holy Spirit come and cleanse us from the crown of our heads to the sole of our feet. Please, God, do a work on the land of the Homeland and cause the people to know that You are God who created the heavens and the earth.
