“ But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia.” (Daniel 10:13).

Have you ever find that you are going to a meeting and within a short distance from your home, yet the distance seems to be many miles away. Sometimes you can get upset and wonders what is taking place? Maybe the time was wrong or they change the venue. Maybe you got it all wrong and you have just messed up. Something in your spirit is saying to check the invitation. Sometimes you can be trapped in traffic and the time for your appointment is lagging but the traffic is not moving. If you can relax and look at our text you may find the answer to your traffic jam. What you may not know is God is protecting you. But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. Isaiah 40:31

Plans do not always go as we hope. Sometimes they are hindered for our purposes. Sometimes we are dealing in a spiritual realm in which we realize we are truly in a spiritual battle. And sometimes we are even hindered to protect us. After looking at your situation I believe you were being hindered from getting to that appointment. However, perseverance and God’s grace allowed you to make the appointment. Next time thank God for the delay and praise Him for the outcome.

The next time your plans get thwarted, begin asking what is at the root of the calamities. Ask God for discernment on what is taking place. Just like Daniel, God will show you what is behind such events.
