Scripture: Psalm 103:2
“Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits.” Memorable milestones deserve celebration, but God’s daily mercies often slip our notice. Today, practice gratitude that sweeps through the commonplace as eagerly as it exults in the miraculous.
An African proverb teaches, “The canoe doesn’t rock when every passenger paddles in unison.” When heart, mind, and lips align in thankfulness, our entire being moves in harmony with the Spirit. We no longer skim gratitude for only the grand moments but dip into it for each breath of mercy.
Imagine a child picking wildflowers along a riverbank, marveling at every hue. Each blossom becomes an offering of delight. Similarly, as you scan your day for small mercies—warm tea, a colleague’s smile, a moment of peace—you gather a bouquet of gratitude to present before God.
In The Mystical Order family, introduce a “Blessing Board.” Post sticky notes of daily benefits—healed relationships, provision, divine guidance. Encourage everyone to add one note each day. By month’s end, the board will overflow, reminding all of God’s relentless kindness.
Today, set a timer every two hours. When it sounds, whisper one brief thanks—“Thank You for this meal,” or “Thank You for this breath.” Let these moments of recognition become spiritual anchor points, keeping your heart tethered to God’s ongoing grace.
Let us pray: Compassionate Lord, open our eyes to every benefit You pour into our lives. Forgive us when we overlook Your kindness. Fill us with continual praise, that we may never forget the magnitude of Your love.
Move through this day counting each blessing. As you notice His benefits, your soul will rise in ceaseless worship.
