The Spiritual Baptist Faith, that vibrant and distinctly Caribbean expression of Spirit-led Christian devotion, has been shaped not alone by its doctrines and its sacred rites, but by the consecrated lives of men and women who gave themselves wholly to God and to the communities in which they were planted. Among those towering figures whose memory the Church of the Living God is bound in honour to preserve stands Mother Pointer Esther Hamlet of Georgetown, St. Vincent and the Grenadines — a woman of uncommon grace, extraordinary spiritual fortitude, and enduring pastoral devotion.
This commemorative brief is prepared under the auspices of The Mystical Order Ministries, under the Supreme Leadership of Patriarch and Chief Apostle Sir Darrindel Hoyte-Johnson, as part of the ongoing sacred duty to honour and record the lives of those trail-blazers whose faith, sacrifice, and vision laid the foundations upon which present and future generations continue to build.

EARLY LIFE AND THE CALL OF GOD
Mother Pointer Esther Hamlet was among those chosen souls upon whom the hand of Almighty God rested early and remained steadfast throughout the whole of her earthly pilgrimage. Rooted in the community of Georgetown on the windward coast of St. Vincent, she was nurtured in a culture shaped by resilience, communal solidarity, and a deep reverence for the things of the Spirit. From her earliest days, the voice of the Lord was not strange to her ears, and the promptings of the Holy Ghost found in her a willing and prepared vessel.
The Spiritual Baptist Faith, as it found expression across the islands of the Caribbean, drew deeply from the wells of African diasporic spiritual heritage, blending sincere Biblical devotion with the sacred practices of mourning, thanksgiving, and the mystical disciplines of the Spirit. Mother Hamlet was a daughter of this tradition in the fullest sense — not merely as one born into it, but as one who apprehended its depths and walked in its light with singular purpose and conviction.
MINISTRY AND SPIRITUAL CALLING
The office of Mother Pointer within the Spiritual Baptist Faith is one of high honour and solemn responsibility. This she undertook with the gravity, sensitivity, and spiritual authority that such ministry demands. Many who passed through her hands in this sacred capacity went on to serve with distinction in churches and communities across St. Vincent and beyond.

Mother Pointer Esther Hamlet was known in Georgetown and the surrounding communities as a woman of impeccable character. Her home was a place of refuge and counsel for the seeking soul; her door was open to the poor, the brokenhearted, the spiritually confused, and the socially marginalised. Children respected her; elders deferred to her wisdom; the youth of the Faith were drawn to her warmth and her gift for making the things of the Spirit accessible and compelling. In a tradition that has always honoured the spiritual mother as the heart of community formation, she was an exemplar of everything that office is meant to represent.
SPIRITUAL LEGACY AND ENDURING INFLUENCE

The legacy of Mother Pointer Esther Hamlet endures in the lives she touched, the souls she guided into the knowledge of God, and the spiritual sons and daughters who continue to serve in the Spiritual Baptist Faith across St. Vincent and the Grenadines and within the wider Caribbean diaspora. She is among that great cloud of witnesses whose faithfulness in life remains a perpetual encouragement to those who run the race set before them.

Mother Hamlet understood this truth with rare clarity, and she lived it without deviation.

We commend the spirit of Mother Pointer Esther Hamlet into the eternal keeping of Almighty God, in whose service she spent her days and by whose grace she is now gathered to rest with the saints of all generations. We give thanks for her life, her light, and her abiding love for the Faith and its people.
