This week, our devotion will be on the topic “I am my brother’s Keeper
Day 12 — November 12, 2025
Scripture: 1 Thessalonians 5:11
“Therefore, encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.”
Reflection
Encouragement is spiritual scaffolding. As our brother’s keeper, you are called to build up others—bolstering faith when doubts whisper, giving vision when confusion clouds, and celebrating progress when discouragement dims. Your affirming words and tangible support become the mortar that holds Christ’s body together.
This ministry demands sensitivity. You notice small victories: a fresh prayer habit, a courageous confession, a step of obedience. You seize those moments to speak affirmation—“I see God’s work in you,” “Your perseverance inspires me,” “Thank you for showing Christ’s love.” Over time, these building blocks create a resilient faith community where every member knows they matter.
Building up also includes constructive rebuke when needed. A brother’s misstep may require loving correction. You offer it not to shame but to restore—anchoring truth in grace so that growth flourishes. Whether you’re affirming or correcting, your posture remains the same: you value the person enough to guard their soul and champion their journey.
Call to Action
- Identify two brothers or sisters to affirm today—send a handwritten note, a text, or a brief video message.
- Notice any needed correction and plan a gentle, private conversation grounded in grace and truth.
- Pray for each one by name, asking God to use your words to build them into mature disciples.
Prayer
Lord of Encouragement, empower me to build my brothers and sisters up in faith. May my words and actions be instruments of Your grace, strengthening every believer to run the race You’ve called us to. Amen.
