HH, Sir Godfrey Gregg D.Div
“Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: thou hast the dew of thy youth.” (Psalm 110:3).
Oh, that you might get such a view of Him as would make it impossible for little things ever to fret you again! The petty cares and silly trifles that have troubled you so much ought rather to fill you with wonder that you can think so much about them.
Oh, if you had the dew of His youth you should go forth as the morning and fulfil the promise of a glorious day! What a difference it has made in life since we have seen it was possible to do this! How easy it seems now when the little troubles come, to draw a little closer to Christ, to drink in a little more of that fountain of life, to get a little nearer to that loving heart, and to draw in great draughts of refreshing and strength from it.
So many times we look at a big thing and bypass the little things of life. Naaman tried that when he was told by the prophet of God to go and dip seven times in the river. he felt that a man with all his titles and position on that river was too dirty for him. He thought about what the world would say of him with his great wealth. His healing was in that mess and so sometimes the gift is wrapped up in small packages and not the way we expect it. Your ownership of a car is in the possession of the keys with the title. and that can be in an envelope. Now, I caution you to be careful about what you are asking for as a gift.
Hear what the Bible tells us, “For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.” Romans 11:29 Think about it for a moment and see where you are standing. Again it is written that If any man desires the “office of a Bishop” Paul lay out the criteria for possession of the office. Here any man can desire the office which is a small thing but can you line up with the blueprint. God help us to see the light of His word in this hour.
