FROM THE DESK OF THE CARDINAL
His Eminence Sir Eric Alleyne
One day at a time sweet Jesus
That’s all I’m asking from you.
Just give me the strength
To do everyday what I have to do.
Yesterday’s gone sweet Jesus
And tomorrow may never be mine.
Lord help me today, show me the way
One day at a time.
Well Jesus you know if you’re looking below
It’s worse now, than then.
Cheating and stealing, violence and crime
So for my sake, teach me to take
One day at a time.
Chorus:
One day at a time sweet Jesus
That’s all I’m asking from you.
Just give me the strength
To do everyday what I have to do.
Yesterday’s gone sweet Jesus
And tomorrow may never be mine.
Lord help me today, show me the way
One day at a time.
Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord!
We’re together again praising the Lord, we’re together again in one accord, something good is going to happen, I can feel it in my soul, we’re together again praising the Lord. A pleasant morning to my brothers and sisters in Jesus Almighty name, beloved let us give thanks unto the Lord, for He is good, for His mercies endureth forever. Almighty and most merciful God, we summon you from earth to Heaven and from Heaven to earth this morning, Father as we humbly come before your presence this morning to give you thanks, praises, honour and glory; we are asking for a fresh supply of blessings, for more faith, and your enduring spirit, so we could run and never weary and walk and not faint. Lord, we thank you for sparing our lives to see another day, have mercy on our families and friends, please direct us as we go about our daily chores; because it’s a long way to go and a victory to be won, so we are pleading; see us through Lord Jesus, see us through. Amen! Praise the Lord! Hallelujah!
To the Patriarch, my Archbishop, Queen Abbess, all ministers, members, friends and well-wishers of The Mystical Order, I greet you in the wonderful name of Jesus. What a mighty God we serve, the very God — who said to the children of Israel, ” I am the Lord thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage, thou shall have no other Gods before me”. Brethren, today I want to deliberate a little bit on the exodus from Egypt, with the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Amen! Brothers and sisters, Almighty God heard the cry (prayers) of the children of Israel who were held bondage in Egypt, and He summoned Moses — who was attending to his father in law — Jethro’s flock. Almighty God told Moses, He (God) has seen the afflictions of His people, He knows their sorrows and He heard their cry, (prayers) so He is going to deliver them out of the hands of the Egyptians, and bring them to a land flowing with milk and honey. Praise the Lord! Beloved isn’t God a wonderful and marvellous God. The God of Heaven commanded Moses to go to Pharoah and to the children of Israel, however, Moses started making excuses. Beloved some of us are like Moses in this instance, when we’re called upon to do God’s work; we too make excuses such as, I have my children to take care of, I won’t have the time, or due to my job or some medical condition. {come on people} Christian awake, watch and pray; Christ is coming back again. Amen!
Moses did as God commanded and after many setbacks, he (Moses) was able to leave Egypt with the children of Israel. {time would not permit to give most of the exodus, so I’m jumping here and there, picking bits and pieces) (read the book of Exodus). Beloved their murmuring and bickering started when they were facing the red sea and Pharoah’s army was closing in on them. Saint of God, on several occasions when trials or temptations arose the children of Israel, questioned God through Moses, saying why did you bring us in the wilderness to die, because back in Egypt although we suffered under our taskmasters, we had food to eat and water to quench our thirst. Christian family are we reflecting on our personal experiences,(ever since mankind always want to satisfy the physical body and neglect the spiritual body). Whenever a situation arises or we find ourselves in some sort of trouble, we too murmur why me. (Where is our faith) Many a time we rebel against the ordinance and the Commandments of God, we resist the truth, our minds are corrupt; just like Jannes and Jambres (Pharaoh’s magicians, Exodus 7 vs 11) withstood Moses, but righteousness will always prevail, good must overcome evil. Amen!
