The Heartbeat of Christ
“Finally, all of you, be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate and humble.” — 1 Peter 3:8
My Beloved,
Compassion is the heartbeat of Christ within us. It is not merely sympathy or pity, but a deep, divine love that moves us to action. I have spent my life serving the broken, the lost, and the forgotten, and I have learned that compassion is not a feeling—it is a calling. It is the willingness to enter into the pain of others, to bear their burdens, and to love them as Christ loves us.
In The Mystical Order, we do not turn away from suffering. We embrace it, for in the broken places, we find the presence of God. Compassion is not about fixing or solving; it is about being present, about listening, and about offering the love of Christ to those who need it most.

But let me share a truth I have learned: Compassion is costly. It requires us to set aside our comfort, our convenience, and sometimes even our own needs. Yet, it is in these moments of sacrifice that we encounter the heart of God. Compassion is the bridge that connects us to one another and to the Father.
Ask yourself: Who is God calling me to show compassion to today? True compassion is not just about words; it is about action—about being the hands and feet of Jesus in a hurting world.
With a Heart of Compassion,
Queen Abbess Patricia
