The Divine Presence in the Midst of Life’s Storms
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” — John 14:27
My Beloved,
Peace is not the absence of storms—it is the presence of God in the midst of them. I have walked through many trials, and I have learned that peace is not a feeling; it is a Person. It is Jesus, the Prince of Peace, who calms the raging seas of our hearts and speaks quiet assurance to our souls.
In The Mystical Order, we do not fear the storms, for we know that God is with us. Peace is not found in our circumstances but in our Saviour. It is the confidence that He holds the future, that His plans are good, and that His love never fails.

But peace is not passive. It is a choice to trust, to rest, and to surrender our anxieties to Him. It is the discipline of fixing our eyes on Jesus, even when the winds howl and the waves crash. Peace is the fruit of a heart that is anchored in His promises.
Peace is also about surrender. It is the willingness to release control, to trust God’s timing, and to rest in His sovereignty. It is the assurance that He is working all things together for our good, even when we cannot see the way.
Ask yourself: Am I allowing God’s peace to rule in my heart, or am I letting fear dictate my responses? True peace is not the absence of trouble but the presence of God in the midst of it.
With a Heart of Peace,
Queen Abbess Patricia
