HH, Patriarch Sir Johnson
Beloved Elders and Youth,
One of the greatest responsibilities we carry is the obligation to pour into the next generation. Knowledge that dies with us is wasted. Experience that is not transferred is squandered. Wisdom that is not passed down leaves the young to repeat the same mistakes we made.
To those of you who are older, more experienced, further along the journey: you have an assignment to mentor. You may not feel qualified, but qualification is not required—only willingness. There are young people in this community desperately searching for guidance, looking for someone who has walked the path and can show them the way. Your scars can become their roadmap. Your failures can become their warnings. Your victories can become their inspiration.
Mentorship is not about perfection. You do not need to have it all figured out before you can help someone who knows less than you. In fact, your willingness to be transparent about your ongoing struggles may be more valuable than any polished wisdom you could offer. Authenticity creates connection; perfection creates distance.
To the younger members of our Order: humble yourself and seek mentorship. In this age of instant information, there is a dangerous illusion that you can learn everything you need from the internet. But wisdom is not just information—it is applied knowledge refined through experience. You need the perspective of those who have already navigated the territory you are entering.
Do not wait for a mentor to appear magically. Be intentional about pursuing relationships with those whose lives reflect where you want to go. Ask questions. Request counsel. Be teachable. Show honour. When someone takes time to invest in you, receive it as the gift it is.
We are building something that must outlast us. The true measure of our success is not what we accomplish in our lifetime but what continues after we are gone. Legacy is not accidental; it is intentional. It is built one conversation, one lesson, one deposit into the next generation at a time.
Let us be faithful to pass the torch.
Patriarch Johnson
