WALK INTO YOUR FREEDOM

HH, Sir Godfrey Gregg D.Div

Throughout the Bible, God has promised His people freedom.

  • Freedom from worry,
  • freedom from jealousy,
  • freedom from confusion,
  • freedom from strife,
  • freedom from debt.

All these become prison houses for those who want to live in and live like the world. These have been blinded to God’s ways. Many believe they must live and act like the world. Many have gotten into the competition to be like others instead of a life pattern of Jesus Christ. These believe living like the world is natural. They fail to realize living like the world is unnatural. God never intended His creation to live as the world lives. He intends His people to be separated from the status quo and enter into His rest, but because of worry about bills and strife with his fellow man, God’s people remain in their prison houses. These have failed to believe His Word and act upon it. The prophet Isaiah inscribed with his anointed pen:

“I the Lord have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles. To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house.” Isaiah 42:6-7

God has called us to a righteous walk, and we are to be a light to the Gentiles. Are not we the city set on a hill that cannot be hidden, Matthew 5:14? And yet we allow the world to dim our light. When we do this we are no longer the light. Instead, we remain in the prison houses we have created for ourselves. Because of this, our eyes have been blinded. Blind eyes have no vision. The all-wise Solomon informed us:

“Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.” Proverbs 29:18

Image result for prison break outGod’s people are perishing because the world around them has stolen their vision. They desire the unnatural life the world lives instead of the righteous, peaceful life God has promised. Because of this, they sit in their prison houses in darkness. We truly live in the day Isaiah warned us of:

“For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.” Isaiah 60:2

We need to arise out of the obscure light of the world and come into the glorious light of Christ Jesus our Lord. Get up and out of the behaviour that we are entrenched in and find the peace of God which passeth all understanding. Bless the Lord O, my soul
