THE INTERNAL COMPASS

HH, Sir Godfrey Gregg D.Div

Integrity is a word that is often misunderstood. Many of us think it merely means whether or not we steal from others. But real integrity means so much more.

It can also mean whether or not we are honest about who we are at the root level. Sometimes we say one thing:.. when we really mean another. An example of this behaviour is laughing at an off-colour joke, even though we don’t think it is funny, in order to fit in with the crowd. We have just been dishonest with others and ourselves. We sacrificed our true selves on the “altar of acceptance!”

~ Another form of this kind of dishonesty is when we try to emulate the gifts and talents of another. We fail to pull it off because we don’t have the goods. The truth is that God has made us unique and we have our own set of gifts and abilities.

Integrity is shown when what’s on the inside of us matches what is on the outside. Walking in integrity isn’t always easy. but it is satisfying because the “real person” within us is being affirmed. Why not take a chance today and be the wonderful person God created you to be?
