HH, Sir Godfrey Gregg D.Div
“The secret of the Lord is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant.” (Psalm 25:14).
There are secrets of Providence which God’s dear children may learn. His dealing with them often seems, to the outward eye, dark and terrible. Faith looks deeper and says, “This is God’s secret. This is the Lord that I am serving. The God that loves me and cares for me.
Men look only on the outside; I can look deeper and see the hidden meaning.” Sometimes diamonds are done up in rough packages so that their value cannot be seen. When the tabernacle was built in the wilderness there was nothing rich in its outside appearance. So when God is working on you men only see the outward appearance and do not know what is happening. Then you will hear many different stories, and you can smell trouble brewing from a distance. I am here to encourage you today to stay focus and connected to God. When the enemy doesn’t know what is happening he gets worried and since he does not know how to read the blueprint there is confusion in his camp, scandal and things that cannot be proven but it is all to the glory of God.
The costly things were all within, and its outward covering of rough badger skin gave no hint of the valuable things which it contained. Brethren let me encourage you this evening that your value is hidden behind the robe of flesh which is only seen by man and the enemy. Deep inside is the indwelling of the Holy Spirit working to renew the person in that flesh. Therefore, if any man be in Christ he is a new creation.
God may send you, dear friends, brothers and sisters, some costly packages. Do not worry if they are done up in rough wrappings. You may be sure there are treasures of love, and kindness and wisdom are hidden within. Amen Archbishop Adrian. We have many examples to present to the world. Who have eyes to see will see and ears to hear.
Do not be so foolish as to throw away a nugget of gold because there is some quartz in it. If we take what He sends, and trust Him for the goodness in it, even in the dark, we shall learn the meaning of the secrets of His providence.
This is an opportunity for each of us to accept and continue the journey to the celestial city. May God grant us journeying mercy and grace.
