But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation. 1 Thessalonians 5:8Remember that old saying “Nothing good happens after midnight”? While that may not be completely accurate, there is a nugget of truth at the core of the expression. Under the covering of darkness, in the depth of the shadows, bad things can be hidden away, out of view. The enemy Bets away with his schemes in the dark. Thieves don’t usually sneak into your home at noon, after all. They wait until midnight and slip in beneath the shadows. Good things happen in the light-at least that’s the perception. God has called You to be a child of the light (the day). Everything is out in the open. You’re not hiding secrets. You’re not covering up sin. You’re an open book, one who is willing to deal with heart issues in a sincere way. How does a child of the day live? Honestly. Legitimately. Take the time to analyze your faith walk today. Is anything hiding in the shadows? If so, let God sweep it away.
