A PRIVILEGE AND RESPONSIBILITY

HH, Sir Godfrey Gregg D.Div

“Moreover as for me, God forbid that I should sin against the Lord in ceasing to pray for you: but I will teach you the good and the right way:” 1 Samuel 12:23

The words of the prophet Samuel above are an important challenge to all Christian men to pray regularly about all things, and especially to pray for one another. to pray for one another.

Samuel was addressing his people who had sinned terribly against God, including turning against Him when they demanded a king to rule over them. Yet Samuel assured them that God had not rejected them and challenged them to serve Him and not turn away into idolatry (1 Samuel 12:20–22). Then Samuel promises that he would pray for them, for to do otherwise would be a sin against God.

It’s essential to God that you come to Him in prayer. Prayer is a wonderful privilege, but it’s also a responsibility. He wants you to come to Him with requests for yourself, your family, your Christian brothers and sisters, for those who need Jesus, and for anything else, He lays on When When your heart feels burdened over an issue or situation, talk it over with God, who wants to hear from you.

Father, thank You for the gift of prayer. Remind me daily that You want me to come to You regularly to talk with You and quietly listen to You.
