Something to do to attract God’s unlimited favour:
Feed the heart with Good thoughts – I used to tell family and friends that our thoughts for ourselves and people make us gain favour from God. How someone may ask? The Lord loves to live in the soul that has good thoughts; He is able to move within that particular person to ensure that his will comes to pass.
Evil thoughts breed depression and bitterness which fights against your unlimited favour from God. The Bible says in Luke 6:45 – “ A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh”.
You can only fight against evil thoughts by reading your bible, fasting and praying as I mentioned earlier. Let’s take a look at Cain in the Bible – Genesis 4:7 – “If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? And if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door (Heart). And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him”.
This also means that our hearts should always be sensitive to the Holy Spirit in order to hear from God and to be able to avoid sin. The Lord destroyed man during Noah’s time according to the Bible because of the evil that was in the heart of men. Genesis 6:5 – “And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually”. Some other scriptures concerning guarding the heart against evil thought are Proverbs 4:23 – “Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life” and 2 Corinthians 10:5 – “We need to bring wrong thoughts into captivity. We must control our mind so that we can obey Christ”.
