Something to do to attract God’s unlimited favour:
Prayers and Fasting – This act also brings us closer to God and allows us to present our fears and needs for an answer (James 4:8 – “Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded”).
When we spend time with God by abstaining from food for a while, it enhances our spiritual life and also gives us the opportunity to work certain areas of our lives that are not pleasing to God. Know that although Jesus was pure, he still fasted and prayed for 40 days (Matthew 4:1-2).
Fasting and prayers is not a parade of holiness but it is a means to helping you live a pure life. The same Bible in Matthew also states in Chapter 6:17-18 – “But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face; 18 That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly.“.
You can also learn how to pray from the teachings of Jesus Christ in Luke 11:1-4.
