HH, Sir Godfrey Gregg D,Div
To my Lord Patriarch and Chief Apostle of The mystical order here in New York and the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, clergy, members, brothers, sisters and our many readers’ greetings. This is the season of giving, sharing or lending a helping hand.
Honest labour is the best remedy for a dishonest life. Every man is to work so that he might provide for himself, his family and be able to help others. To do something for someone in need is pleasing to Christ. When you do, your faith will grow and be witnessed by many. That pleases Christ too. Lend a helping hand.
Share with God’s people who need help. Bring strangers in need into your homes, community and church. Romans 12:13
Each of you should give as you have decided in your heart to give. You should not be sad when you give, and you should not give because you feel forced to give. God loves the person who gives happily. 2 Corinthians 9:7 The Bible promises that when we give unto the Lord we will receive in return. It is according to your heart that you will receive. There are many people that give bountifully and receive nothing because their hearts are indicted in another matter. As Luke 6:38 tells us “Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal, it shall be measured to you again”.
Those who are stealing must stop stealing and start working. They should earn an honest living for themselves. Then they will have something to share with those who are poor. Ephesians 4:28
A brother or sister in Christ might need clothes or food. If you say to that person, “God be with you! I hope you stay warm and get plenty to eat,” but you do not give what that person needs, your words are worth nothing. — James 2:15-16
Some people who only wait for hand out must stop and get up and work. You cannot always wait for a handout from others. God has given you hands and you must use them. A man is worthy of his hire. You work and you must be paid for your labour. Welfare needs to be limited, food stamps reduced and let people get up and work. I can see where people work and get disabled by the job they performed and they are compensated. Others that make themselves sick in pretence to beat the system should be taken off and made to provide for themselves and their families. The word of God encourages us that by our sweat we will eat bread.
