STAY WHERE YOU ARE CALLED

Stay in your own lane.” | Where I Stand

HH, Sir Godfrey Gregg D.Div

“Let every man abide in the same calling wherein he was called.” (1 Corinthians 7:20).

O ye who complain about your calling or fret about the changes and trials of life, how do you know but that these very changes are the divine methods by which God’s purposes of blessing and usefulness concerning you be fulfilled? Had Aquila not been compelled to leave Rome and break up his home and business, he would probably have never met with Paul and been called to the knowledge and service of Christ through this providential meeting. Had he not been a working man, and pursuing his ordinary avocation he would not have been brought into contact with the apostle. It was in the line of their calling, their common duties, and the providential changes of their life that God called them. And so He meets us. Do not try hard to run away from it, but, as the apostle has so finely put it, “Let every man abide in the same calling wherein he is called, let him therein abide with God.” Make the most of your incidental opportunities.

I am encouraging you today to find your divine calling and purpose in the line of service and stay there. Do not shift off the straight line. Do not complain but pray for the time is at hand and there is no more room for you to roam. Do not fret about the evil-doers for they are working to strengthen you in the service wherein you are called.  I am here to encourage you to stay focus and steer the course, though the storm surge may rise, know that Jesus is the Master in the storm.

There is none like our beloved Apostle Paul who said, “Let every man abide in the same calling wherein he is called, let him therein abide with God.” This is a serious admonishment from a true servant and now is the time for us to get back on track to the place where we once called home. Very, soon it will be homegoing time and it is important for us to maintain our calling and walk in God’s word. Be encouraged that there is one among you that has the vision to encourage you to walk on the pathway to peace and in the fear of the Lord.
