Lead Courageously in your efforts
“ For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”—2 Timothy 1:7
Without God, courageous leadership is possible (some might contest this), but the real difference-maker for the Christian is the motive. Leading courageously from self-interest will have an impact—and some will be negative. But courageous leadership that stems from Godly motive has mysterious “power, love, and self-control.” The difference is noticeable as self-interest is subdued. You’ve probably seen this mystery at some point—while rare. But it’s possible.
- It’s possible to discover the courage of Abraham as he prepared to sacrifice his son on the mountain of the Lord.
- It’s possible to know the courage of David as he ran to meet the giant.
- It’s possible to know the courage of Paul’s contentment in any circumstance.
But it’s only possible when our desires and motives are courageously led by the Spirit. It is here the leader is made. It’s here we move from cowardly to courageous and the impact is mysterious.
TRY THIS TODAY: Lead with courage, but be courageously led by the Spirit.
PRAYER: God, as a subject and servant may I lead with courage today. AMEN
