HH Sir Godfrey Gregg D.Div
Just before work this morning I want to encourage you to trust in the Lord and before this year 2018 closes there is one decision I am asking you to make before the start of the year 2019.
Say not thou, I will recompense evil, but wait on the Lord, and he shall save thee. — Proverbs 20:22
Some of you are in the courtroom. The courtroom of complaint. Some of you are rehashing the same hurt every chance you get with anyone who will listen. I always ask myself that question and then see where I am standing in God’s courtroom. (Read Revelation 3:15-16)
For you, I have this question: Who made you God? I don’t mean to be sounding mean, but why are you doing His work for Him? ‘Vengeance is Mine,’ God declared. ‘I will repay’. — Hebrews 10:30
Many have gone so far to stay up all night hoping that they will destroy someone’s life. They “roll the graves in the cemetery” like witches and wizards. God said I know your works. I know you are not here on my terms but that you will find favour in the eyes of men.
Judgment is God’s job. To assume otherwise is to assume God can’t do it. God does not need our help or He would have you from the beginning of time. Your hands are dirty and heart is corrupt. You need to repent and turn from your wickedness and serve the true and living God.
Revenge is irreverent. To forgive someone is to display reverence. Forgiveness is not saying the one who hurt you was right. Forgiveness is stating that God is faithful and He will do what is right.
~ When God Whispers Your Name
Do you find yourself “doing God’s work for Him”? In other words, do you find yourself judging others? Why is this a waste of time?
I beg you to Choose Love
And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love, and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. — 1 John 4:16
If it was possible I would legislate that man must choose between God and the world, No person may walk out into the world to begin the day until he or she has stood beneath the cross to receive God’s love.
Churchgoers, Presidents, Preachers, Prime Ministers, Elected Members, Medical personnel, and truck and taxi drivers. All will be required to linger at the fountain of His favour until all thirst is gone.
Don’t you ache for the change we’ve seen? Less honking and locking horns, more hugging and helping kids. We’d pass fewer judgments and more compliments. Forgiveness would skyrocket. Crimes will be reduced, corruption will be a thing of the past, people will learn to respect each other and live in harmony, peace and love.
Sounds like a wild idea? I agree. God’s love can’t be legislated, but it can be chosen. Choose it, won’t you? For Christ’s sake, and yours, choose it. As for you and your house, I urge you to choose this day whom you will serve. I have presented before you two opinions and like a ballot at election time, choose wisely.
We Come because we are Thirsty.
Have you chosen to stand at the foot of the cross to receive God’s love? How has this affected your life?
Are you willing to stoop and drink? If not why did you come?
As we close the year 2018 I encourage you to make Jesus the Lord of your life and live for Him now and always.
