One good example for us to follow is from brother David in Psalm 5 verse 3, he was pleading that in the morning the Lord will hear his voice, and he will direct his prayer unto Thee and will look up. Brothers and sisters every breath we take and every step we make, we must put God in front, because HE promised to be our Guardian and our Guide and will hear us when we call. I don’t want to sound cynical, but a true believer always take their situations to Almighty God and wait and depend on HIM for an answer. Sometimes it’s not the answer we were looking for, or we have little or no patience, but we must trust God and not lean on our own understanding. However, the same David, after committing adultery and murder (2 Samuel 11) and on receiving the message from God through Nathan, (2 Samuel 12) went into fasting and praying (took his plea to the Lord in prayer) asking forgiveness and the sparing of his son’s life. So Christian friends, we see that in everything we should put God first, and like I’ve mentioned before, not all times we get a favourable answer, because David wanted his son’s life spared, but the child died. Lord have mercy!
Everything is wrought through prayer, one thing I know for sure is that, God want us to ask, seek and knock; some of the greatest blessings we can enjoy are from persistent prayers, do not relent, hang on to God’s words no matter what the circumstances are saying to you. Prayer requires more of the heart than our tongue, God usually answers us according to our own hearts. Always remember, if we restrain from prayer we cease to fight; prayer makes a Christian armor bright and satan trembles when he sees, the weakest Saints upon their knees. In Philippians 4 verse 6 we read, “be careful for nothing, but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your request be made known to God”. in other words, take it to the Lord in prayer. Amen!
In closing brethren, let us not sleep like Christ Disciples did when HE left them to go and pray, and returned and found them sleeping. HE told them,” what, could ye not watch with me one hour? Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation, the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak”. Heavenly Father, we thank You this morning for the word, we thank You for our Saviour. Master please bless and preserve our elders in The Mystical Order, have mercy on us, for we sin daily in thought, word and deed. Lord God, we pray for the world at large, teach us and compel us to take every thing to the Lord in prayer. All these and more blessings we ask for in Jesus Almighty name. Amen!
