I greet you in the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ. My brothers and sisters in the Lord I come to you the same time every day to minister to you the things God lays on my heart. May we look to the word of God for our foundation text now.
The Lord said to Moses: “How long will these people reject Me? And how long will they not believe Me, with all the signs which I have performed among them?” – Numbers 14:11
“All I have needed His hand hath provided,” the hymn writer wrote. Yet still, we wonder… How in the world can we afford college?… Where will I find a job now that I’ve been laid off?… Will God really help me if I step out in faith? We sing this song almost every day and yet we do not have faith that God is all that we need. It tells me that we sing the words without believing it.
How much evidence of God’s faithfulness will it take before we learn to trust Him? How much longer can we afford to walk without any hope that if God said it, He will bring it to pass? Refusing to believe God, even though He continues to provide for us, is an affront to our loving God. It only takes one for the household to be the example to the others. My God will supply all…. notice He didn’t say some of….. but all of our needs according to His riches in glory. So where does that puts us?
It reflects an unbelief that hurts the heart of God. If you’re a parent, you undoubtedly understand that pain. Yes, pain when the fulfilment of God’s word is readily available for us. Yet, we suffer silently by refusing to obey and honour the word of God.
God’s provision … which is always enough and always on time, is one of His tangible ways of expressing His love for us, His children. Do you recognize the Father’s love in all He gives you? Or do you grumble and complain when what you have doesn’t satisfy you? Do you look at what others have or receive and think you should have the same? Have you learned to expect God’s provision whenever you have a need? Teach yourself to thankfully receive all that God gives you as evidence of His love and faithfulness, and then you’ll find it easier to trust Him next time.
Bishop Lynch sent out the email “BE NOT UN-THANKFUL” and I hope you read it. Today is the other side. Say thank you Lord and be grateful. I love you and God bless
