LASTING FRIENDSHIP ESTABLISHED BETWEEN DAVID AND JONATHAN

AB GreggAs we look ahead to another day and feel the peace of God flowing through our veins, we feel the sense of comfort and pride in the God we serve. This is the day that the Lord has made and we are going to rejoice and be glad in it. My brothers and sisters of The Mystical Order let us be glad and rejoice for today is like a thousand years in the sight of God. So be glad that you are alive and still on the land of the living to offer praise and make your supplications known.

Yet this favour and honour in Saul’s sight was not destined to last. As David also grew in stature and respect among the army and the people of Israel, Saul’s love and favour turned into bitterness, resentment and hate. Saul became determined to murder David, since he knew that he would replace him on the throne. This also meant that Jonathan would never be king. It does not matter where you stand in line of success, remember that there is something called the “will of God”. You have to be in that lane for God to work with and through you. I tell you when the anointing comes you will know without a shadow of doubt, but you have to trust Him. Saul knew his days were over and he was bent on destroying David. You cannot destroy the purpose of God. Just walk in His word and lean not to your own understanding.

A single great event signaled both the beginning of Jonathan and David’s friendship and their falling from favour in Saul’s eyes, David’s defeat of the giant Goliath. As I tell you time and time again that it is not how much you can talk but living the work so people can read your book. Some people cannot read and I am sure they know how you live, it it is pleasing to the Lord.  Goliath had been mocking and challenging the army of Israel for 40 days. To all who saw him, he seemed invincible, their worst nightmare! He stood well over nine feet tall and wore chest armor weighing about 125 pounds! His armor bearer could barely even carry his shield.

Yet this did not frighten or deter David. He willingly challenged this champion of the Philistines, knowing that God would deliver him just as He had done from the bear and the lion. God was truly with David, and David knew that the Eternal would grant him victory over the man who defied the army of the living God. Nothing was going to stop David for he knew where his strength lies. You just have to put your trust in the Lord and believe Him to do the rest. The battle is the Lord’s. We are defeated because we trust in ourselves and in the words of man. I tell you today that no man can give you success. Jesus said that all power is given unto Him from the Father. So you see where you have to put your trust.

Running straight toward him, David killed this mighty giant with nothing but a sling and a small stone. He then stood over Goliath, cut off his head, and brought it before Saul, speaking to him in the presence of Jonathan. When the Philistines saw that their champion was dead, they fled before the army of Israel, who chased after them in victory. You must be standing on solid ground to win the battle, Hallelujah. O, Jesus Christ is still the same yesterday, today and forever. Trust Him today and put your faith to work.
