A blessed day in the Lord and for the sparing of our lives to be on the land of the living to offer praise and thanks to Almighty God. My brothers and sisters in Christ this is another day that we have to rejoice the Lord is King. This morning let us give all thanks and honour the the Name of our God. Lift Jesus higher and higher.
Our Scripture Reading: Joshua 5:13-6:16, 20
By faith the walls of Jericho fell, after the people had marched around them for seven days.
Israel’s entry into the promised land was up against a wall. They had no advanced weaponry or military strategy. But they did have something that was far better and more powerful. Israel had God. Your back may be against the enemy, it is time that you pray the way you were taught. You have God on your side. When the enemies rise up against The Mystical Order there is no need to worry. We have God on our side. The Gospel we share is the same Gospel we started with and will not change to accommodate another person. Israel stood her ground even to this day, because Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever.
But how can God’s people access and apply the power of God? It can happen in various ways, but it happens only by faithful dependence on God. With God’s help, Israel fought more than a few battles. God’s power can also come through the words of a prophet or in response to an offering. Yes an offering in heart unto God for a specific purpose. Not an offering to show yourself so men will see or even to lie to others. You see, God is no respect of persons. So when I lost my few pieces of silver I will call a few people to celebrate with me whenever I found them. I do not want a crowd because the heavenly host of angels will be there with me to rejoice.
Now, acts of faith in God may not always look very powerful or impressive. Some Israelites may well have muttered: “What’s the point of all this walking around these walls?” What’s the point of a seven day fast (Mourning)? “Why this and why that”, is it beneficial to us in these days. Why convention or a gathering? My brothers and sisters where there is Unity there is strength. However when God calls a gathering it is for a specific purpose and only He alone will get the glory and the honour. One noted reason in this day, men call a gathering to show themselves and place oneself on a pinnacle instead of God. The higher you place yourself the greater the fall. Lord keep me humble before you and all men that your word will be glorified and souls receive of the grace of God.
For that matter, does prayer look powerful and impressive? You have to decide what you are into and how effective it is for you and the people you serve. Ask and it shall be given, seek and you shall find and if you knock it will be opened. I tell you that if you are having any results from the foregoing then you are on the right road. How about submitting to death on a cross?
Israel had to learn what we all repeatedly have to relearn: that the biggest obstacles to receiving the promised land, God’s kingdom, are not enemy walls or armies. The biggest obstacles are the forces of Satan, sin, and its consequences. Oh, many ministers and pastors fail to see what God is saying to us in these last days. ministries are dying, people are leaving and ministers are making confusion to save their ministries. It is a little too late because there is no peace but sudden destruction. Ministers have taken their eyes off the word of Truth and Hope and have placed it on numbers. And the only power that can defeat them is the power of God. Through faith in Jesus, God works his power to fulfill his promises.
Lord, you sent Jesus to break down all the walls that can come between us and your coming kingdom. Many walls that have been established to destroy the work of The Mystical Order and Starlight of Israel. A sure foundation established on Your word with many branches. If these branches do not bring forth fruits meet for your Kingdom cut them off. Help us to believe in and trust in him each day. Amen.
