THE BREAD OF LIFE

()

Thou art the bread of life,
O Lord, to me.
Thy Holy Word, the truth,
That saveth me.
Give me to eat and live,
With Thee above,
Teach me to love Thy truth,
For Thou art love.
I was glad when they said unto me, let us go into the house of the Lord. Brethren, as we gather here in the name of The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit; let us glory God for spared life and tender mercies. Heavenly Father, we honour, adore, worship and summons You today, for we have no other help but You. Without You, we are nothing, we cannot perform nor exist without Your grace, guidance or protection. Lord God, we need Thee every passing hour, we pray that You continue to bless and provide for us, in Jesus Almighty name. Amen!

To our Patriarch and Bishop of Starlight of Israel Healing School, my Archbishop, Crowned Queen Abbess, all ministers, members, friends and families of The Mystical Order of Spiritual Baptist Inc 2012, I greet you in the wonderful name of Jesus. A name which soothe your troubles, heals your wounds and drives away all fears. Hallelujah! Family in Christ, today I want to deliberate a little on “bread”, something which most of us eat on a daily basis. Most of us were brought up with “bread” being part of our first meal of the day (breakfast). In St John chapter 6, we read where Jesus fed a multitude of people with five barley loaves (bread) and two small fishes. In verse 35 of the same chapter, Jesus said, “I am the bread of life; he that cometh to me shall never hunger, and he that believeth on me shall never thirst”. Brothers and sisters, although the people (our ancestors) witnessed the miracles Jesus performed, some of them still would not come to terms with themselves, that Jesus is “the bread of life” {The Son of God}. Some believed and some were murmuring (questioning) the authenticity of Christ Jesus. Likewise in the church nowadays, some of us go for different reasons, not everybody go to church to praise God. Lord have mercy!

Getting back to the subject at caption, in verse 27 of the above mentioned chapter, Jesus warned us of labouring for food which will perish, instead, labour for food which endureth unto everlasting life — “the bread of life”. Yes, we have to eat to survive (carnal food), but we need the spiritual food (the word of God) to nurture us until that day of Salvation. Let us not misinterpret what Almighty God said to Adam in Genesis 3 verse 19, by the sweat of your brow, you will eat bread. We must honestly labour in order that we obtain food to survive. Amen!

Whenever one gives thanks, bread is present on the table. Traditionally at Christmas time, there’s also preparing and baking of bread, most significant at Holy Communion, the host (bread) we eat represents Christ’s body, so both carnally and spiritually “bread” plays an important role in our lives. Praise the Lord!

In closing brethren, let us continue to partake of that bread of life which will lead us eternal life. Almighty God, we thank You for another blessing today, we thank You for “The Bread of Life”, which You sent to feed, redeem and save mankind. Please continue to inspire our elders of The Mystical Order, plant them by the rivers of water, that they may always stay fresh and green. Master remember us in our low estate, compel us to praise You more and pray without ceasing. O Jehovah Jireh, please provide for us and help us to stay strong in faith and in patience wait, until You come. All these and more blessings we ask for in Jesus Almighty name. Amen!

Your humble servant,
His Eminence, Eric Alleyne. LOM. OHPA. OSM.
Cardinal of The Mystical Order.
Commanding Officer of The Mystical Court.
