DIVINE APPOINTMENTS

 ARCHBISHOP AND PRESIDING PRELATE

HisBeatitude Sir Godfrey Gregg DD

Today it is another privilege to greet my Leader and elders in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Our Patriarch and Bishop of Starlight of Israel Dr. Darrindel Hoyte-Johnson, Matriarch Hon. Janet McClean, Crowned Queen Abbess Dr. Jacinta Albert-Patrick of Trinidad and Tobago, His Eminence Sir Eric Alleyne, Patriarch McGillvary and the Queen Abbess of London, England. Let us look at our scripture for today.

So Pharaoh said to Joseph, “I hereby put you in charge of the whole land of Egypt.” – Genesis 41:41

Isn’t it interesting that the word appointment comes from within the word disappointment? I’ve often marveled at that because I’ve seen again and again how disappointments take somethings from us: a dream, a piece of our hearts — maybe whole chunks of it. But disappointment leaves something too: a gift, an opportunity, the possibility of creating change.

This means we can move from the valley of the shadow of death to new horizons and bring others with us on that road. However, we have to stay in our lane and walk behind our Leader. Remember the steps of the righteous man are ordered by the Lord.

The enemy would like us to feel such a depth of disappointment that we never find our way back to the plan God has for us. If he can convince us to stay stuck in our disappointment, we’ll miss many of our future God appointments. I realize that some disappointments seem so big that we can’t imagine ever being able to move beyond them. We ask deep questions and they go unanswered. Many times we just have to sit back and let God work His will for us. We feela sense of loss when others fail us, we feel disappointed and in many cases it is the will of God for our lives. We must STOP interfering in the plan of God.

Joseph could have become bitter when he ended up in the pit, was sold into slavery, and thrown in prison through no fault of his own. His dream appeared shattered by disappointment. Yet, because he did not lose hope, he finally stepped into his divine appointment and was put in charge of Egypt. Hallelujah, they that wait on the Lord shall renew their strength. Yes, they shall mount up with wings like an eagle, run and not be weary and they shall walk and not faint.

We too will encounter many disappointments along our journey and must decide ahead of time that we will not allow them to derail us. Everyone of youhad some disappointmentin your life and may have some disappointmentin me as well. That is part of the process in building characher for the journey. It is not what the other person thinks of you but how God sees you in His plans. My brothers and sisters donot be disappointed in yourself. Take that moment as the first step to a better place. You are worth more than the thoughts of others. Your worth is what God has in His plans for you.

So much of our Christian walk has to do with learning to trust the goodness and faithfulness of God despite what happens to us or is happening around us. Forget the lies, gossips, ill-treatment which sometimescome fromthe people close to you. They shall fail, as your servantI want to encourage you to lift up your heads and smile. Be proud of who you are and what you have, count it a blessing. I never fail to love you and I want you to feel loved every minute and every moment.

This sounds much easier to do than it actually is. When your emotions are screaming and your heart has been betrayed, the door of opportunity has closed, or that relationship has broken down, the last thing you feel like doing is trusting God and continuing the journey. Can I encourage you today with these words? Even if people have disappointed you or circumstances have not turned out as you had hoped or prayed, know that God is with you, cares for you, and loves you. He is working all these things together for your good right at this very moment. He is building up your spiritual immune system. He is making character for the journey ahead. Are you ready?

There are many future God appointments on the other side of this disappointment. Walk with me and let us face the challenges together and heand on. Disappointment will come but we are going to overcome them with God’s plan of appointments for our lives. We are The Mystical Order and Starlight of Israel, and we are survivors and fighters. God bless us all on this journey.

DOING THE RIGHT THINGS

“For as he thinks in his heart, so is he…” Proverbs 23:7

To our beloved Patriarch and Bishop of Starlight of Israel, Crowned Queen Abbess Hon. Dr. Jacinta Albert-Patrick of Trinidad and Tobago, Patriarch McGillvary and Queen Abbess of London England, brothers, sisters, friends and well-wishers greetings.

God created us as visual beings. It’s so important that we create the right image in our minds because the way we see ourselves is what we move toward. Visualization is simply seeing yourself the way you want to be. It’s creating a picture in your mind of accomplishing your goals, overcoming your obstacles, and fulfilling your God-given destiny. Our imagination is extremely powerful. The way we see ourselves in these pictures that we create, over time, will not only drop down into our spirit, but if we continue to dwell on them, they get into our subconscious mind. Once something is in the subconscious, it’s just like gravity; it pulls us toward it. All these internal forces are released, and more often than not, we become just like we’ve imagined. Find your energies and let them over take you in a positive direction.

If you’ll create a picture in your imagination of something you want, a dream coming to pass, a business succeeding, a picture of yourself healthy and whole; if you’ll keep that image in front of you, that’s what you’ll move toward. If you keep the Word of God in front of you, that’s what will come forth out of you. Keep the right things in your mind and the right things in your life!

Today the way we act, or behave, dress, talk will be the message we preach to the world and that we will become. Let it be a positive attitude with a positive message to the world. Remember the saying that our actions speak louder than words. Your life may be the only Bible that some people will ever read. Therefore, let us be respectful of others and ourselves. There are recording angels that report to our Father and ad our beloved Chief Bishop Roberts will say “God is too wise to make a mistake”.

Father God, we thank You for creating us in Your image. Thank You for our imagination and for the ability to change our lives by meditating on Your Word. Help us to keep Your truth before us always so we can walk and live in the path You have for us in Jesus’ name. Amen.

THE LORD OUR ROCK

ARCHBISHOP PRESIDING PRELATE

His Beatitude Sir Godfrey Gregg DD

Turn with me to the Book of Psalm for our scripture reading. While you are finding the scripture let me greet our beloved Patriarch and Bishop of Starlight of Israel Healing School Sir Darrindel Hoyte-Johnson, Patriarch McGillvary and the Queen Abbess of London, England; Matriarch Hon. Janet McClean, Crowned Queen Abbess Dr. Jacinta Albert-Patrick, Queen Abbess Dr. Patricia Hackshaw, Cardinal Sir Eric Alleyne, brothers, sisters, friends and well-wishers.

Let us read together:

“The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge…” Psalm 18:2

When you go through difficulty in life, one of the ways to keep the right perspective is to take a moment to look back over your life and remember what God has done for you. Remember how He made a way when you didn’t see a way. Remember how He opened doors that should have never opened. Remember how He put you in just the right place at the right time, promoted you, healed you and restored you. If He did it for you once, He can do it for you again. When you read what He did for the people in the Bible, how He rebuilt The Mystical Order and join Starlight of Israel; you can have confidence that He will do the same for you!

This is how you build your house on the rock. Hold on to the promise that no matter what comes your way, when the storm is over, when the trouble has passed, you’ll still be standing. As a believer in Jesus, you have the DNA of Almighty God. The same power that raised Christ from the dead lives on the inside of you. You may get knocked down, but you’re not going to stay down. You’ll rise up and stand strong when you build your life on the Rock! My brothers and sisters of The Mystical Order and Starlight of Israel shine forth and build in the Name of Jesus Christ.

Jesus said to Peter “upon this rock I will build my church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it.” That is a promise and you just have to accept it and believe. Everything you do will prosper as long as you put your trust in the Lord. You will never be forsaken. You will be sheltered in the midst of the storms. Many people start to build and never get to lay the first block. Some people tried to destroy the foundation laid by others, and they were destroyed with their intentions. The Mystical Order was tested and tried and we are standing on the promises of Almighty God. Except the Lord build the house they labour in vain that build it.

Father God, thank You for Your protection, grace and mercy on our lives. We choose to focus on You; We choose to dwell on Your goodness; We choose to lift up our eyes to You because You are our help in Jesus’ name. Amen!

May Almighty God continues to lead you step by step, only if you are willing to submit to His authority, will and purpose. You are told or may I say warned to come back to the place where God is still your ROCK for your well being. Trust your leadership and walk in the vocation wherein you’re called.

THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE SHEPHERD

FROM THE OFFICE OF THE ARCHBISHOP AND PRESIDING PRELATE

His Beatitude Sir Godfrey Gregg.

There is a good reason for the illustration of a shepherd with his sheep, which was used so often in biblical times … because it’s an illustration people could easily identify within their cultural context.  The illustrations we use are most effective when they are understood easily by the culture to which God has sent us to minister.  Spiritual Baptist understood what shepherding is all about. It is a text that is preached daily within our churches.  It is about feeding the lambs and the sheep, bringing them to good pasture lands and water, grooming and clipping them, delivering new lambs, leading them and teaching them to stay together, going off after the wandering lost ones, and protecting the sheep in the field and in the fold.  We are all under shepherds and Jesus Christ is the Good Shepherd.  We need to emulate what the Good Shepherd does for the sheep. John 21:15-17 “So when they had dined, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these?” He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love Thee.” Jesus said, “Feed my lambs.” He saith to him again the second time, “Simon son of Jonas, lovest thou me?” He saith unto him, “Yea, Lord, Thou knowest that I love Thee.” He saith unto him, “Feed my sheep.” He saith unto him the third time, “Simon son of Jonas, lovest thou me?” Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, “Lovest thou me?” And he said, “Lord, Thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love Thee.” Jesus saith unto him, “Feed my sheep”.

There are many other aspects of this deep passage I could dwell on such as the Lord’s use of the word “agape” (God’s love for humanity) and Peter’s use of the word “phileo“, (brotherly love) or the paralleling of the three denials with Peter with the three commands of Jesus … but I want to look at the three statements of Christ and think about the excellent illustration of shepherding by the Shepherd Who is showing us how to be good under shepherds (or assistant).

FEEDING: First Jesus says “feed my lambs.”  Emulating the foundational apostles such as Peter, we are told to feed the lambs.  Lambs need milk. (As new born babes desire the sincere milk of the word that they may grow thereby 1 Peter 2:2) They need the basics of the Gospel and simple biblical precepts to grow.  We are then to “take care of the sheep”.  That means we are to do everything we can get into in a moment.  Finally we are to “feed my sheep”.  Remember, these are the sheep of the Lord, not our sheep; not sheep of the church.  We are caretakers of sheep that belong to the Master.  The point is we are to move beyond feeding the lambs’ milk to feeding the sheep solid food. Heb. 5:12-14 & 6:1-3 in fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the basic or simple truths of God’s word all over again. You need milk, not solid food! Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness. But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil. Therefore let us leave the elementary teachings about Christ and go on to maturity, not laying again the foundation of repentance from acts that lead to death, and of faith in God, instruction about baptisms, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment. And God permitting, we will do so.

What then is solid food?  It is training in righteousness so that the sheep can be fully equipped, able to stand in the day of testing. 2 Tim. 3:16-17 All Scripture is given by the inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be thoroughly furnished unto all good work. Stories, pop music, psychology worldly pleasures and gossip do not feed sheep.  They must be fed on the written Word of God as it is explained properly and applied by the Holy Spirit. Watering Genesis 29:3 “And thither were all the flocks gathered: and they rolled the stone from the well’s mouth and water the sheep, and put the stone again upon the well’s mouth in his place.” Water, in the Bible, is often used as an allusion to the Holy Spirit.  It certainly is in the case of water baptism.  An under shepherd will lead his flock to water regularly.  He will roll away the stone of hard hearts and prepare those hearts to be receptive to the nourishment of the Holy Spirit.  This can only be accomplished by rolling away the stone of the “self” culture (in other words get yourself out the way, and let God work) so the light of God’s written Word can shine through teaching and proper explanation, through prayer, and living in obedience to the commands of Jesus Christ.

Grooming:  The shepherd grooms his sheep, keeps them clean and free of contamination, from the world, the flesh and the devil. He then prepares them to be disciples, followers of the Good Shepherd, so they will, in turn, go out and minister to others. Matt. 28:19-20 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

SHEARING: Duet: 18:4-5 “The first fruits also of thy corn, of thy wine, and of thine oil, and the first of the fleece of thy sheep shall thou give him. For the LORD thy God hath chosen him out of all thy tribes, to stand to minister in the Name of the Lord, him and his sons forever.”  At times sheep must be sheared.  This is a useful and profitable process for both the sheep and the shepherd.  This is an offering to the Good Shepherd.  For the benefit of all, the sheep must be sheared … disciplined, encouraged and rebuked … to keep them fit for service to the Lord. 2 Tim.4:2-3 “Preach the Word; be instant in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine. (And encourage one another with great patience and careful instruction.) For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers having itching ears.”  They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to untruth. But thou, my beloved Ministers and brethren of this Worthy and Noble Mystical Order: keep your heads up in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, and discharge all the duties of your ministry. You are the one that will be called into question. What have you done with Jesus that is called the Christ? Heb. 12:7-10 “If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons. For what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons. (And everyone undergoes discipline), Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we give them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live? For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness. Moreover, we have all had human fathers who disciplined us and we respected them for it. Our fathers disciplined us for a little while as they thought best; but God disciplines us for our good, that we may share in his holiness. No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it. You have to train your children now so when they get old they will not depart from it.

1 Thessalonians 5:14 Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient towards all men.

Titus 2:15 “These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority, Let no man despise thee.” You should able to teach. Encourage and rebuke (not in your might but) with all authority. Do not let anyone (I say anyone) despise you. As Ministers you have to stand firm and prove that you can lead in the darkest shadow or situation.

Isaiah 40:11 He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: He shall gather the lambs with his arm and carry them in his bosom; and shall gently lead those that are with young. We are to deliver the lambs.  We preach the Gospel, the Holy Spirit then convicts the sinner, and if some repent and believe they can be born again. John 3:3 “Jesus answered and said unto him, verily, verily I say unto thee, except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” I say no man will enter heaven’s gate unless he is born again. That is your first promise and you should consider this option if, you have not done so. “Only the Lord Jesus Christ can save and cause a person to be born again.  But when a lamb is newly born, the under shepherd still has responsibilities. John 11:25 Jesus said unto her, “I am the resurrection and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live. John 11:39-44 Jesus said, Take ye away the stone,  Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith unto him, Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been dead four days. Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God? Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me. And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me. And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth. And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with grave-clothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, loose him, and let him go.

We roll the stone away by preaching the Gospel to let the light of the Son of God shine in the darkness.  When a lamb is born, they come out wrapped in placenta.  They still have the trace of the old man wrapped around them.  They need to be helped to put off the old man and put on the new man!  This is called discipleship.  Then when the lamb is relatively free, we let them go to grow on to maturity and live their faith out in action.

LEADING: The under shepherd leads the flock in the world, while helping them not to be, “of the world”. There is now a new page in the life of these lambs and so the Shepherd must be able to understand and nurture these lambs.  Psalm 23:1-6 The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, and he restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever. Following the lead of the Good Shepherd as under shepherds we are to lead the sheep to pasture and water.  We teach them and restore them.  We guide them in paths of righteousness.  We protect them from wolves and beasts in the world with the rod and staff.  The rod and staff are for discipline of the flock and protection for the flock. Proverbs 23:14  Thou shalt beat him with the rod, and shalt deliver his soul from hell.1 Samuel 17:40  And he took his staff in his hand, and chose him five smooth stones out of the brook, and put them in shepherd’s bag which he had, even in a scrip; and his sling was in his hand: and he drew near to the Philistine. We are to discipline the sheep to be aware of the pitfalls of the world. We are to warn them of any danger, that’s why we as servants and shepherds ought to be watching every hour and every minute, so we can sound the warning.  We are to lead the flock out and teach them to stay together in unity.  Sheep automatically have one type of unity, which they are to “keep”. Ephesian 4:3 Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. The only way to be a sheep is to be born again. A sheep is born with sheep nature and will look like, and act likes a sheep.  Otherwise you are a goat or a wolf.  Those who are born again have a bond of peace, a unity of the Spirit.  But there is another unity that we must build the sheep up into … the unity of the Faith. Eph. 4:12-14  For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ. Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ. That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive. This unity is unity of belief, unity of doctrine.  There is no way for sheep to be unify with wolves in sheep’s clothing because there is no unity of the Faith. Matthew 10:16 Behold I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves. Be therefore wise as serpents and harmless as doves. Wolves are those who pretend to be in unity with the sheep just long enough to come in and drag sheep away into sin.  They look and talk like sheep, but they expose who they are by their fruits, false teaching and false prophecies.  We need to teach the sheep to be wise and be on the watch for the pitfalls of the world, the flesh, the devil and of false religion.

WANDERING SHEEP: True under shepherds will make an effort to look for wandering sheep. Luke 15:4”What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he finds it? And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbours together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.’ I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent. The Bible is clear that many people have and will continue to wander from the Faith.1 Timothy 6:10 for the love of money is the root of all evil. Which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. 1Timothy 6:20-21 O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called: Which some professing has erred concerning the faith. Grace be with thee. Amen. James 5:19-20  Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth and one convert  him; Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins. We need to help people who have wandered, fallen into the fire, while being careful not to get burned ourselves or soil our own clean clothes.  This means we need to be careful about hanging out with false teachers and those who are deceived because we are also in danger of being deceived. Jude 1:22-23 And of some have compassion, making a difference. And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh. We need to be mindful that we have all wandered at times, we have gone astray, but the point is to return to the Shepherd.1 Peter 2:25 for ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop (Overseer) of your souls.

PROTECTION: The shepherd would bring the flock home to the fold at night.  He would then lie down in the gate physically to protect the sheep from wolves coming into the sheepfold.  He literally put his life on the line for the sheep. John 10:1-13 “I tell you the truth, the man who does not enter the sheep fold by the gate, but climbs in by some other way, is a thief and a robber. The man who enters by the gate is the shepherd of his sheep. The watchman opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice. But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will run away from him because they do not recognize a stranger’s voice.” Jesus used this figure of speech, but they did not understand what he was telling them.

Therefore Jesus said again, “I tell you the truth, I am the gate for the sheep. All who ever came before me were thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. He will come in and go out, and find pasture. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it more abundantly. “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. The hired hand is not the shepherd who owns the sheep. So when he sees the wolf coming, he abandons the sheep and runs away. Then the wolf attacks the flock and scatters it. The man runs away because he is a hired hand (paid ministers) and cares nothing for the sheep. We learn some important things about being a good under shepherd in this passage.

First of all we are to be watchmen.  There are not only savage wolves out in the world; there are savage wolves that are entering the fold at an alarming rate. Acts 20:29 For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. Matthew 7:15”Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. The wolves who try to enter the fold make themselves look like sheep.  They talk like sheep, they pray like sheep, they make themselves look extra-holy, they say “Lord, Lord”, they claim to be doing miracles, casting out demons, making prophecies in the name of the Lord … but by their fruit you will know them … the fruit of lying, of false works, false prophecy, false teaching, false anointing’s, following false apostles, and trying to be justified by their works.  The Shepherd sees through their ruse and calls them what they are … evildoers. Matt. 7:21-23  ”Not everyone that saith unto me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? And in thy name have cast out devils? And in thy name done many wonderful works?’ And then will I profess unto them,  ‘I never knew you. Depart from me, ye that work iniquity. ‘If we as under shepherds do not protect the flock against these wolves, we are just as liable for the destruction they cause under our watch as they are. We as shepherds MUST protect the flock, because God will require accountability at our hands.

Ezekiel 33:6-7 “But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman’s hand. So thou O of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn them warn for me.” God has made every under shepherd a watchman.  There are many gates into any church.  The gate of the “mourner’s” room, the gate of the music ministry, the gate of the pulpit, the gate of the announcement and upcoming so-called “Church” events, the gate of the women’s ministry, and the gate of people who come into the body but have an agenda to take people away from unity in the Faith. We need to lay our bodies down in the gate to protect the flock at the risk of our reputations, friendships, our livelihood, and perhaps even our lives.  There are too many “hired hands” (paid ministers) in the churches today that are not doing their job because they do not want to take a stand against anyone or anything.  By their inability to make the hard stands they make themselves useless to the Good Shepherd, and allow great evil a foothold under their watch. In conclusion those who are called to be servant under shepherds in the body of Christ must take that responsibility seriously.  There is far too many who claim to be called to servant leadership, but demonstrate clearly that they are not qualified to be shepherds according to God’s criteria and plan.  We need to be feeding the lambs and the sheep, bringing them to good pasture lands and water, grooming and clipping them, delivering new lambs, leading them and teaching them to stay together, going off after the wandering lost ones, and protecting the sheep in the field and in the fold. Oh how I remember the song coming back from mourning,

“There were ninety and nine, that safely lay in the shelter of the fold; but one was out on the hills away far out from the gates of gold.

Away on the mountains wild and bare, Away from the tender shepherd’s care”

What else do you want to hear as Spiritual Baptist coming back from the inner court? Somewhere in the service you are sure to hear, my shepherd will supply my needs and Jehovah is His Name. O what a wonderful time we have in the Lord. I recall the Shepherd watching every move of his children as they receive the pilgrims. Today it is a far cry from what it was like and I will love to call you back to your place of true worship. God is still in charge and He will deliver if we just ask Him.

WORTHY OF WORSHIP

ARCHBISHOP AND PRESIDING PRELATE

His Beatitude Sir Godfrey Gregg DD

To worship in truth we must:

  • Have purity of heart
  • Deal with any sin in our hearts and repent
  • Have a spirit of humility
  • Have a spirit of submission to the will of God
  • Have a spirit of obedience
  • Have a spirit of commitment
  • Have a sense of wonder of who He is and have a sense of awe in His presence
  • Have an awareness of God’s presence and be overwhelmed by His majesty
  • Be speechless in His presence and allow Him to speak to us

True worship is not about us but it’s all about God.  We cannot worship God in truth with sin in our lives or if there is self-will in our hearts, because it is about God’s will for us and not the other way around.

The Bible warns us not to worship anyone or anything else.  We are not to worship, saints, statues, angels, money, or celebrities.  Anyone or any thing that becomes more important than God, and turns our hearts away from Him is an idol or a false god. God says in Exodus 20:2-3 “I am the LORD your God …..You shall have no other gods before me.” When the devil tried to tempt Jesus in Matthew 4:10, Jesus rebuked him and said, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.”  If we choose to worship false gods, God’s word says in Jonah 2:8 “Those who worship false gods turn their backs on all God’s mercies.”  I certainly don’t want to live my life without God’s mercy! I want all of Him now and forever. Put your shoulder to the wheel and Let God do the rest.

Praise the LORD!
         Praise God in His sanctuary;
Praise Him in His mighty firmament!
  Praise Him for His mighty acts;
Praise Him according to His excellent greatness!
 Praise Him with the sound of the trumpet;
Praise Him with the lute and harp!
 Praise Him with the timbrel and dance;
Praise Him with stringed instruments and flutes!
 Praise Him with loud cymbals;
         Praise Him with clashing cymbals!
Let everything that has breath praise the LORD.
Praise the LORD! (Psalm 150:1-6 NKJ)

NOW I CAN SEE

 ARCHBISHOP AND PRESIDING PRELATE

His Beatitude Sir Godfrey Gregg DD

To our beloved Patriarch and Bishop of Starlight of Israel Healing School Sir Darrindel Hoyte-Johnson, Patriarch McGillvary and the Queen Abbess of London, England; Matriarch-Elect Hon. Janet McClean, Crowned Queen Abbess Dr. Jacinta Albert-Patrick, Queen Abbess Dr. Patricia Hackshaw,  Cardinal Sir Eric Alleyne, brothers, sisters, friends and well-wishers greetings.

“ ‘I don’t know whether he is a sinner,’ the man replied. ‘But I know this: I was blind, and now I can see!’ ” John 9:25

Let’s hear the word of the Lord

One time, Jesus healed a blind man, and the religious crowd got upset. They started arguing over why he was healed, how he was healed, and who was to blame for him being blind in the first place! They were hounding the man with questions. Just like the press and the media looking for a story for their network. Some “christian-sinners” do the same playing hollier than thou looking for answers. Their lives are no where near sync with God’s word yet wants to be the guardian of the Holy Writ. But, hallelujah the Lord will give you the utterance at the very moment, the appointed time. Finally, the man said, “Listen, guys. You all are confusing me. I can’t answer all of your questions. All I can tell you is this: I was blind, but now I can see.” He was saying, in effect, the proof of the pudding is in the eating! He was saying, “You can argue all day long, but I know the reason I can see is because of God’s healing in my life.”

There are people today who don’t think you are supposed to be blessed. They don’t think that God wants people to prosper and live in victory. But it’s too late because we’ve already experienced His blessing. He’s already opened up supernatural doors! We’ve seen His favor! Don’t let the naysayers talk you out of your blessing. Don’t let them convince you that God’s Word isn’t true. He’s already done so much in your past, and He’ll do more in your future. Keep standing, keep believing and keep hoping. Soon you’ll see His blessing in every area of your life! I don’t know how to explain it to you but God is doing awesome things in my life and this ministry. I have seen the shift in the wind. I have seen a different direction. I know that I know the hour is drawing closer and we must be ready. I see “these and those” coming to the saving knowledge of God. I an moving out the way and let God do His work. They are all mine and mine is Thine O, Lord.

Over the last few weeks I have seen in my spirit that God is working on our behalf, lifting us up higher and higher. Doors have been open, jobs created, the storm is calming down and we are the recipients of the fullness of God’s grace. I look and behold the great move of the spirit of God among the Church. I have seen lost sheep coming to the fold and there is still room for another one. Out in the desert I heard the cry sick and helpless and ready to die. Here I am come to draw you closer to the fold and safe in the arms of Jesus.

Let us pray: Father in heaven, thank You for opening the eyes of my heart so that I can, first of all, see You and then see every good thing You have in store for me. I look to You with an attitude of faith and expectancy and believe that You are at work in me. Continue to open doors for us and keep us in your perfect love in Jesus’ name! Amen.

FORGIVENESS (Part one)

A2

I thank God this morning for waking me up with all my senses intact and knowing that I am loved by Him. My brothers and sisters He didn’t have to do it for me nor you, but because of His love we can say “and are we yet alive to see each other face …” Because He obeys His Father and set the right example for us to follow, we can forgive and move to the next level.

Our Lord Jesus is our example in every circumstance of life. When He was on the cross being pummeled with the hatred of men, and with the vitriol of hell, He said, Father, forgive them…..Why did Jesus ask His Father to forgive them? In the midst of intense hatred Jesus loved. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16. Jesus came to redeemed us back to our God. He died for us, so we can be forgiven.

That is why He calls upon us to love our enemies. In Matthew 5:44 our Lord said, ….“Love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you.” Love your enemies. It is only through God’s love that we can love our enemies, we can do good to those who hate us, we can bless those who curse us. It is only through God’s love that we can pray for those who use us, abuse us and persecute us. God’s love in us will enable us to love our enemies. The love of God has been shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit. We have no excuse not to love our enemies. To love our enemies is to forgive them.

It is the will of God that we love our enemies. Our Heavenly Father wants us to be like Him. He wants us to imitate Him as dear children. We have all seen children who remind us of one of their parents either through their bodily features or in their mannerisms. Some of us will say he or she is the image of his or her parent. Our heavenly Father desires to see Himself in us.

Our Father “makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust”. Matthew 5:45. God is good to all. God loves us. We were and many still are God’s enemies. Yet He sent His Son to die on Calvary’s cross to redeem us to Himself. God loves His enemies and so should we.

Love covers a multitude of sins. When we love, we will forgive. When we forgive our enemies, we will be able to pray for them according to God’s will. Many of God’s people are being persecuted around the world, and even here in the United States. Yes, in the Caribbean to some degree. We should pray for the persecuted believers and we should also pray for their persecutors. What should we pray? We should pray for deliverance and grace for the persecuted. Should we pray for our persecutor’s demise? We should pray for their salvation. We should pray that God would intervene in the persecution. “Vengeance is mine”, said the Lord. He will judge righteously. I will continue this message tomorrow so come back and receive a word from God.

Forgiveness is the Key to Happiness

ARCHBISHOP AND PRESIDING PRELATE

His Beatitude Sir Godfrey Gregg DD

Forgiveness has recompense not only for heaven but also for one’s experience now. Forgiveness brings about happiness. It gives rise to an experience of contentment. Forgiveness rids us of feelings of rage, hate, and bitterness and gives one a feeling of peace, joy, and gratitude in the place vacated by them. These kinds of emotions give rise to happiness. Emotions of rage, hate, and bitterness make us feel sad and distraught. So forgiveness gives rise to rewards in our experience.

What Jesus said about forgiveness

Jesus taught his apostles how to pray and the “Our Father” comprised the words: “forgive us our debts as we have forgiven our debtors” (Matt 6:12). He went on to say that if they failed to forgive others, then they also would not be forgiven. If they did not forgive, they would not be given admittance into heaven. Still, doesn’t it make sense to say that not forgiving also causes unhappiness in this life?

Reflect on the case of a person who refuses to forgive. They begrudge forgiveness, and since they do, they continue to be angry that some harm as occurred. They go on to cultivate their anger and repeat over and over the harm that someone has done. They feel like a victim. They must also maintain the emotion of hostility toward the person who occasioned the hurt, until they are able to revenge themselves. Getting revenge may not even be an option, and so they are not able to get justice and experience frustration in addition to anger.

My good friend’s story on forgiveness

My uncle was once told he had to leave his childhood home right after the funeral for his father. It was the stepmother’s attorney who gave him this injunction. This turned out to be a good thing for him since he was able to live at the home of his married sister. But he still cultivated rage about the harm that he had experienced. When one day, years afterwards, he came across the attorney on the street, he struck him with his fist and stuffed him down a manhole to revenge himself. Although an officer of the law saw this, he did not press charges because he sided with my uncle.

My uncle loves to tell this tale because it illustrates his revenge. However, there have been many perceived harms to him that he has not gotten even about. He thus habitually responds by holding grudges against people. He nurses a self-righteous disposition because he always sees others as the perpetrator and never himself. He has become a very unhappy person since he believes that he is superior to other people.

On the contrary, my mother, who experienced the same thing when she was a girl, responded with forgiveness. She didn’t hold onto a grudge and didn’t develop a habit of responding to slights with anger with grudge holding. She was grateful that her sister had taken her in and had helped pay for her college. She decided to be grateful while her brother chose to be resentful. She now has many friends, gets along with people, and has empathy for others who also suffer. As a result, she has peace of mind and experiences joy knowing that she is forgiven by God for any of her failings.

Choosing forgiveness

Jesus commands forgiveness and it is not optional for a Christian. And yet forgiveness and mercy are difficult. Let me give you a tip I got from my friend and brother Archbishop Frank of the archdiocese in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. When I find it difficult to forgive, I tell God how I honestly feel and that I don’t want to forgive the person, but I tell him to make it a contract with me to change my heart so that I can forgive from my heart, and then I turn it over to him.

Forgiveness doesn’t always come easily and quickly but when I faithfully do this and continue to pray for the person who I don’t want to forgive, my heart gradually changes. The feelings of hurt and humiliation begin to disappear. I don’t feel like a victim anymore and my anger transforms into an honest appraisal of the person who hurt me and a realistic picture of the harm that was done. I begin to see where they are failing, but I also see where I can pray for their betterment. And finally I also begin to see where what happened actually was to my greater benefit and conducive to my happiness.

I can see how God can take the evil and turn it into good. In time a feeling of peace and joy reasserts itself and I see myself as the recipient of goodness, not harm. And this is the basis of happiness.

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2016

20151106_222527I take this opportunity to thank God for His saving grace and mercy towards me. In that I am still on the land of the living where praise can be offered and supplications made.I also want to thank God for my family, brothers, sisters and our readers and followers of the Mystical Order through Christ Jesus.

God has been good to us in every area of our lives and operations. Some things were not in our favour, but God has still seen us through. Today we can say without a doubt “And are we yet alive to see each other face.” What a privelege we have to take it all to our Lord in prayer.

Many came among us and departed but The Mystical Order is still anchor within the vale. The race is never for the swift but those will can fight to the end. My brothers and sisters in the Lord we have come a long way and it wasn’t without pain and hurt. We must not loose the vision from 5 years ago when we started on this journey. There were times we went through the water, sometimes through the flood. Yes and through the fire, but Hallelujah  we can rejoice because of the blood of Jesus.

As I look back to see the journey I am so reminded of Vanity Fair City where people get distracted.  Many things happened in that city and  only the strong survive and make it out alive. It was bonding and prayers that we have made it this far. As I sit to write this message with you on my heart and what God has done for us. I want to encourage you to hold on and be steadfast in your quest of service to the Lord. Some will hate you and somewill love you. Please, do not lose sight of the prize.

Your heart should be set on heaven and the hereafter. Do not be caught in the snare of the enemy. He is very good at distracting you for his purpose. Many walked with Jesus and after they were fed and nothing else was coming their way, they walked away leaving twelve. Jesus knew that he had enough to carry out His mission and He asked if they will also walk away. Peter said to whom Lord, Thou alone has the words of eternal life. Later Judas walk away. I recalled one Bishop asking me what Jesus would have done without Judas? Today the same question is asking what will you do without Jesus called the Christ. His Eminence Sir Roberts would answer this way” God is too wise to make a mistake”.

The Mystical Order has undertaken a large task and it is paying off. We don’t have a church building but we are reaching thousands of people. I can report that through the website www.mysticalorderinc.org the message is going forth and for the year 2015 we had 1.6 million visitors to the website. There are 244 emails that go out daily. During the same period 26 persons unsubscribed from the emails program. God is on the move and you should be a part of this movement. This was made possible with His Eminence Sir Eric ministering every Tuesday in email. These emails are posted on the website and you can look through the archives if you missed something.

In 2015 the registration of The Mystical Order was completed in Trinidad and Tobago. This followed the appointment of a Patriarch and Archbishop to handle the affairs of the church. Other ministers were appointed and the church is growing. People freo all walks of life are coming together to spread the word that Jesus Christ is coming again. Our Patriarch Sir Darryl continues to lead the flock and he has indicated that he is not ready to retire. We praise the Lord.

As we enter 2016, stay with us as we steer the course into new areas. Our plans will be unfolded in a meeting in January and the reactivating of our conference line. Think positive and look ahead, lift up your eyes for our redemption draweth nigh. I take this opportunity to join our Patriarch Sir Darryl and Matriarch Lady Janet in wishing everyone a very Happy New Year 2016.

COMMIT THY WAY UNTO THE LORD, TRUST ALSO IN HIM.

ARCHBISHOP AND PRESIDING PRELATE

His Beatitude Sir Godfrey Gregg DD

Turn with me to the Book of Psalm for our scripture reading. While you are finding the scripture let me greet our beloved Patriarch and Bishop of Starlight of Israel Healing School Sir Darrindel Hoyte-Johnson, Patriarch McGillvary and the Queen Abbess of London, England; Matriarch-Elect Hon. Janet McClean, Crowned Queen Abbess Dr. Jacinta Albert-Patrick, Queen Abbess Dr. Patricia Hackshaw, Cardinal Sir Eric Alleyne, brothers, sisters, friends and well-wishers.

Let us read together:

“The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge…” Psalm 18:2‎
